Actually for many Belgian, VLM is actually an unknown brand, not like brussels airlines and tuifly, I think they should me advertise, and please not with a foto of a Fokker 50
since they're flying with Fokker's it would a bit stupid to make an advertising campaign with an A320 since they're not flying with them in their regular schedule .. they're known in the business world, especially the London area and the UK (some parts) but true they should make more advertising for their routes in order to fill them. They're also at the vakantiesalon to promote their rebranded airline, so at least that's a start already.

and SN is known by the Belgian's but still as SN Brussels Airlines, Sabena, SN, Brussel Airlines .. it's known but not by its exact name still ;)

Are there any figures already on how the Zurich route is doing?
Took the zurich flight 2 times so far .
1 flight: 4 pax and another flight: 6 pax
The inaugural flight to ZRH had 14 pax, as told to me by the gate agent.

Technical problem for OO-VLI ? What about the back-up plane? Should be still easier to plan for than after Feb 12th, when they add 3 new destinations to their network...

Indeed! Incredibly unprofessional they don't have a back-up plane at the ready during such a critical phase for them!

Ever thought of OO-VLI being the intended back-up plane for that day?

Well actually, even if the flight wasn't a ferry flight, the load factor would be almost the same, no?

I went to the "vakantiesalon" in Brussels this morning.VLM has a stand there with flyers....I took one of them concerning LCY flights, prices at 59 EUR one way BUT the flyer says "2 flights a WEEK" ???Isn't that " 2flights a DAY"??Or am I wrong?

It is 3 or 4 flights a day, depending on the weekday, but on the quietest days of the winter season, this was indeed reduced to two flights a day. No flights on Saturdays, two flights on Sundays.

From what I heard last weekend: VLM Airlines would again be in trouble.
'Chinese owners no longer want to invest in an empty box', dixit a source.
Anybody with more information?

Did the Chinese owners not see that before investing?
So the airline that got their AOC might be in trouble while the other airline that's ready to fly still doesn't have their AOC and is burning cash... yikes!

Well there could be solution though, if Air Belgium takes over VLM then they'll have 3 AOC's to fly with

Would maybe not be a bad idea for both airlines to cooperate... VLM could use their Fokkers to bring in connecting pax for the long haul flights and both want to connect China with Belgium... why not do it together... plus you save money on staff, offices etc...

No, they're both pretending to be a Belgian company, so they don't do synergies. ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist it.

Next week VLM starts flying to Maribor (and Munich + Birmingham)

With a returnfare of 165 EUR from Antwerp to Maribor, I guess if you didn't book yet something else ,it might be a good idea to visit that place for a citytrip or a ski-trip next week.

Anyone already went for Ski in Slovenia recently?
In any case today the snowheight in the mountains near Maribor is between 70 and 130 cm. 8-)

Well I am citizen of Maribor and I went skiing just yesterday. Maribor Pohorje Ski resort has more than 40 km of ski tracks. Almost all of them are now open due to good snow conditions. The ski resort is approximately 12 km away from airport and offers also hotels (from 3* to 5* hotels). The prices are affordable. Here is the official webpage of the Ski resort: https://www.visitpohorje.si/en/

For further questions about Maribor or Slovenia related topics I will be happy to answer/help you. :D

I'm afraid that for the Belgian people there is only one country with snow and facilieties to ski: Austria...
