Today I have flown with the VLM for the first time in my life.
Route: MBX - MUC
Aircraft: F50, OO-VLN (Vision Air Livery)
LF: 13 on board (3 of them, including me, disembarked in MUC)
Superb service for the short flight. Got a coffee, wine, muffin and a small pack of nacho-chips. Flight attendants (2) were very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend to fly with them. Will use their service again if they keep on flying. Hopefully this will be the case.
Congrats! Glad to hear of your good experience with VLM.
Just wondering:Did you make use of their promotional tariff? Or you just booked the 'normal' price ?
Will you return with them aswell to MBX?
Thank you!
I booked the flights during Easter promotional time. I payed 39€ per flight meaning 78€ for both flights. I am also returning with them to Maribor.
It can be that one was in training since one was quite young. The first officer said that he has not heard that F50s would be replaced with ATR42s but also said that it would be a logical solution.

Yes indeed... As from August 17 it is going to be for Maribor to be stopped...

Not really a surprise, is it? Still surprised though that zurich was not on that list. My guess in 1 year the company will be gone. Well at least, they tried.

I let them 6 months.

VLM abandons ALL routes, except LCY and ZRH. It will also develop charter and ACMI activities, putting permanently one F-50 with crew at the disposal of The Aviation Factory.
They already got OOVLN, don't they?
But if the airline continues like that, they will do like SSJs, so no agreement, and then no ATR. VLM is convicted.

ATV : "De verwachte ingebruikname van de nieuwe vliegtuigen is voorzien in de tweede helft van 2019.”
New planes for 2nd half of 2019...
They will stop their operations before recepting new airplanes, for sure.

Ostend airport still stays a TUI only airport and perhaps ANR will be too very soon.
You don't reduce to grow but expand to grow.
Parhaps its time to change their name now.

The original VLM tried it some years ago, couldn’t make it profitable.

The "street-to-plane" time at ANR is much shorter than at BRU. It's almost faster to take a car from BRU to ANR and board the flight at ANR than it's to board at BRU...

They did not code share with SN, if I remember well. Perhaps a code share with SN (or BA) could make it work if these airlines are interested, of course.

Belgians.... "we are proud to be losers". Much more attention in the media (newpapers, extensive radio coverage & interviews, maybe even on TV??) for the ending of these routes, than when VLM finally succeeded to restart operations and started these routes!
Of course VLM is also to blame for this publicity mess: hardly any substantial promotion when starting the new routes and now creating the conditions for politicians and media to blow everything out of proportion. Well done VLM management!! Btw. VLM maybe can clean up its website....
I hope that real talent @carllegein can contribute substantially to the survival of VLM!

As I mentioned at the time of writing.
A decent company put the bookings on hold and then make a statement.
Now its as if they need the money from the bookings to keep them going...

Let us know about the load factors on each leg of your trip. That could explain the decision.
