I've seen this in Bruges in a Bank (Axa), When you have an appointment at the bank, you get a free ticket for 1h parking in "'t Zand". When leaving, you insert this 1h free ticket before paying and the 1h is deducted from whatever you need to pay...

It was already a couple of years ago, I don't know of they still do that...

Could be also a good system. Otherwise, you can get a whole day of free parking when only buying 1 coffee...

Hi,

Nice discussion but is this a 'horeca' forum... ?
Next discussion : which latte do you prefer ?
😂😂

Pity we still have no news about a ANR-LCY connection !
No flyBE ( little red ? ), TUI, BA, SN,EW ,...

Guess that route wasn't that attractive anyway...

The airport is as good as dead. Reason is there is almost no competiton at the airport as well. Flying group and ASL are running the show. So why not getting more anr based bizz operators? If you come by private jet, there is only 1 handler (FBO’s) while there should be more choice to choose from. Signature, Landmark and others are also better. Fueling, if i remember well, also 1 fueling company available. ANR could also be a great place for maintenance organisations for private jets. Why not trying to attract them? It has been proven that ANR is not really a place for scheduled flighs cause the routes are always cancelled after a while. Zurch, gva and others....it did not work!! ANR could be so much better as a bizz airport if they just would invest more in that direction and would not allow this monopoly at the airport.

"It has been proven that ANR is not really a place for scheduled flighs cause the routes are always cancelled after a while. "
TUI seems to be successful, even though they're changing their destinations regularly. And remember the ANR-LCY route has been very successful for a long time: don't confuse failing airlines with a failing airport.

"Reason is there is almost no competiton at the airport as well."
Although it's true that ANR is rather calm, I don't think this can be solved by adding another bizz operator, handling agent or fueling agent: there's just not enough traffic to allow a second party to be succesfull. Compared to the BelAir-discussion above: apparently not enough passengers/visitors to keep one brasserie alive, adding a second one just for competition isn't going to help either.

I think ANR will profit most from (another, besides TUI) reliable airline, offering a decent (may be short) list of destination and certainty for the long term: that will in return attract other traffic (including bizz) and create opportunities for service providers, both airside and landside.

The news today is that there is no buyer for VLM, no one willing to invest in an airline based at ANR to lay their hands on a Belgian AOC and - after more than three months - no one brave enough to fly to London City from Antwerp. https://www.tijd.be/ondernemen/luchtvaa ... n/10075390

The Belgian AOC of VLM expires today, thus the value of the airline has become nil (except for the last 3 aircraft and parts that were sold to Swedish Amapola)

Well, stop saying 'Antwerp Airport', OK !?
The 'Antwerp Flanders International Airport' is offering again an air-side bus transfer between the terminal and the plane on rainy days. With VLM gone, the TUIFlys & the Stobarts manage most of the time to park in stand 113, which is about 2 bus-lengths away from the terminal building. So maybe getting more airliners based at ANR than buses, is more important... I know, in 6 months time it's 2 again 1 (airliners versus buses)

This is what the political parties have put in their political agreement: "...De luchthaven legt de focus op zakenvluchten, waarbij gebruik gemaakt wordt van narrow body-vliegtuigen. De stad kijkt er op toe dat de exploitatie strikt binnen de huidige milieuvergunningen en in de beste verstandhouding met de omwonenden blijft..."

Thus, unfortunately, we won't see 777's or 380's at ANR in the near future.

And this is for now, from a coalition without the Greens... Wait and see what will happen in 6 yrs. time

SPA Antwerpen is just trying to avoid that their voters switch to the Green Party. What matters, is what is written in the agreement: "Antwerp Airport will focus on business flights". "To focus on business flights doesn't mean "new leisure destinations are forbitten".

Repeat: what matters, is remark 49 from this document:

Of the 599 topics in the agreement, only a few are making the headlines. And 49 is the only one for now, where already conflicting interpretations are given by the parties concerned. And rest assured, the Greens won't be silent bystanders on this subject.

The Green party has nothing to say. They are cowards and too scared to get involved with real politics. Sticking to your own principles makes this come to a standstill. BTW the city has nothing to say about what is happening at the airport. It is the responsibility of the Flemish government ...

For those who don't know what is going on in Belgium's Koekenstad: during the campaign for the elections 14/10/2018, the SPA and the Green Party both stated that Antwerp Airport must be shut down. They both hoped for the votes from people suffering from unconvenience and distress (like ERJ's taking off at 06h30).

However, after the voters have spoken, things changed: the NVA didn't loose as predicted, so Bart De Wever (NVA) took the lead in the negocations for a new coalition. The Green Party and Kris Peeters (CD&V) however called themselves out, thus leaving no other choice then a coalition NVA-SPA-VLD.

NVA and VLD would in no way accept the closure of ANR, so the SPA had to choose: another six years in the opposition, or accept that ANR won't close. The negociators then agreed on a vage point 49 of the agreement : "...ANR should focus on business flights..."

Next step: fierce internal opposition within the SPA, with three of the six elected members opposing the agreement. "We gave in on too many demands", they said, "like the closure of the airport". Hence the party leadership came out with a statement about the airport: "no new leisure destinations". NVA and VLD didn't react to that: they know what matters after 01/01/2019, is what is written in the agreement.

Let me end with this Monday morning smile: point 41 of the agreement: "...We insist with Belgian Rail that they will open a check-in counter for Brussels Airport within Antwerpen-Centraal Railway Station..."

It is now a couple of months that the FLYbe route have been running to SEN.

But how is it doing now, loadfactor wise? Better than the LCY routes back then by VLM?

Any idea?

I flew to SEN and back last week, the loadfactor was not bad in my opinion.
26/12 - ANR/SEN - 45pax
30/12 - SEN/ANR - 55pax

Not bad at all, indeed. Still not an alternative for the ANR-LCY service. and isn't it a rather low-yielding operation, compared to ANR-LCY which was very high-yielding?
