Affirm. Two controllers decided to go on strike but they have been replaced quite quickly so normal ops now.

Over the first three quarters of this year the airport has handled 628,500 tonnes. In 2017 LGG’s total volume was 717,000 tonnes.

Excellent! I would think space might soon begin to be limited on the LGG site! :)

It is saturated... because they can't build fast enough. But there is a lot of space north of the track.
For comparison, brucargo is 130 ha, all full. LGG has 470 ha available, but lets not go faster than the music ;)

Qatar Airways Cargo commences Doha-Macau-Los Angeles-Mexico City-Liege-Doha service

which is weird ... due to the altitude of mexico city, it's usually MEX-LAX-LGG, but let's see

it's more complicated even. It's weird that some news site mention only half of the story, but anyway

Nice RTW route indeed. The first weekly flight looks like this:

And in the second one, ORD is replaced by IAH.

It looks like it's easier to connect Liège to China with a freigter train than to connect Liège to Paris with a freigter TGV !

Cargo trains from China to Europe (and vice versa, of course) are all the vogue; there have been inaugurations to Antwerp and to Gent, too, not so long ago.

But what's this about a cargo HST? Liege-Paris is not a sufficient distance to make this attractive, imho; but a high speed reefer train from Spain (Valencia, or so?) to Paris and perhaps even beyond could be a strong offer, especially for fruits and vegetables.

Excuse me if this is going too far off topic.

That's a good idea in fact they could even use the track's at night when there are free.
