Indeed. what did you expect, Luchtzak, that the spokesman confirmed an imminent bankruptcy??pitrixplanespotting wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 19:45Yeah sure, you will make your airline profitable with selling planesluchtzak wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 14:17 Norwegian spokesman Philip Allport told Aviation24.be: "This is pure speculation. Re: Norwegian in 2018
This news has a history, in 2017 Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary claimed the same: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/ryan ... -alitalia/Poiu wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 20:53Indeed. what did you expect, Luchtzak, that the spokesman confirmed an imminent bankruptcy??pitrixplanespotting wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 19:45Yeah sure, you will make your airline profitable with selling planesluchtzak wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 14:17 Norwegian spokesman Philip Allport told Aviation24.be: "This is pure speculation. Norwegian also denied back then. Let’s wait and see ...
Re: Norwegian in 2018
Yeah, but they didn’t halt all recruitment back then, nor were they trying to divest 140 airframes in 2017.
It probably won’t happen this year, but expect either a sale or some negative news after the board meeting on January 7th.

Re: Norwegian in 2018
I tend to believe Norwegian's spokesman, specially because there is quite a difference between "serious financial worries" and "an imminent bankruptcy". I think that Air Belgium will agree on that.Poiu wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 20:53Indeed. what did you expect, Luchtzak, that the spokesman confirmed an imminent bankruptcy??luchtzak wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 14:17 Norwegian spokesman Philip Allport told Aviation24.be: "This is pure speculation. May I suggest you switch to Ryanair shares? They are at their lowest in 5 years now:
14th August 2017: RYA 18,97 €
21st December 2018: RYA 10,29 €.
Or wait... What if the RYA share goes down even more?
Re: Norwegian in 2018
Wrong topic!
But, as you ask, back in 2004 I put 3 months FR salary in shares at 2€, sold them in the summer of 2017 at 18€ and bough a seafront flat in Faro with the money.
And yes RYA is a good investment, they could loose another 20-30%, but buy then and within the next 5 years you’ll have a good chance to double your money. (Free advice because it’s Christmas, but no guarantees unfortunately)

Re: Norwegian in 2018
Employees have been informed about Norwegian’s financial situation.
Not looking good at all:
-base closures
-salary sacrifice
-selling aircraft to generate cash
-employees to loose a lot of perks (meals, hotels of lower standard, allowances,...).
The sh!t is very close to the fan, a little turbulence and the wheels will come off.
