Hi
Saw A321from royal Jordanian take off from BCL the other day. Didnt retract gear until Eye could see.
Normal and something you've seen before?
Thanks

I didn't know about that. Thanks. I would guesstimate layover was about 1 hour. Is that not enough to cool down brakes?

Re: Captain I forgot to raise gear
Better to forget to raise them than to forget lowering!
Re: Captain I forgot to raise gear
On the A32F it's near impossible to "forget" retracting the gear.
The noise it makes will remind you quite effectively.
Cooling down the gear is normally done before taking off. Retracting the gear with hot brakes means a fire hazard if combined with a hydraulic leak in the gear bay.
An hour on the ground seems like plenty of time to cool down the brakes, even if that aircraft doesn't have the optional brake fans.
Another possibility is they had a main gear brake failure. One of the four main gear brakes may be inoperative, yet in that case the gear has to remain extended for 1 minute after takeoff. This is to allow the main gear to "slow down" before retracting, something which is normally automatically done by the brakes after takeoff.
