Romania's FlyValan commences operations (although not to Brussels)

FlyValan has inaugurated commercial flight operations following a series of delays that saw the launch date slip by almost two months.

Using ATR72-500 YR-FVL (msn 747), operated by Romanian technical partner Fly Compass Service, FlyValan began revenue operations on January 23 with domestic Italian flights from Genoa to Trieste.

Other destinations from the Ligurian port city that are set to roll out in the coming weeks include Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland, and, if demand increases, Barcelona El Prat in Spain.

FlyValan decided to temporarily cease its only service, from Genoa to Trieste, on 13 March 2018, due to lack of commercial success.

Reason for "lack of commercial success": too little time between announcing first flight and operating first flight.
