Game changer? For first class perhaps. If you can afford it.

But the business class has still a middle seat (2-3-2) and the economy class has still the very narrow 17in. 3-4-3 configuration.

Poor passengers...

For First class definitely 'a' game changer yes. For Business class I'm very surprised as well that they still kept the 2-3-2 lay-out even though it is quite spacious, it siginificantly limits free movement for enclosed pax (and there are many of those in this lay-out)...

For economy class...well I think everyone is going there. Qatar Airways and Emirates are regarded as 2 of the best airlines in the world but except for their catering and IFE, Economy class is as sh*tty as with other airlines.
However it depends on the flight length (which is very limited on the Europe-DXB/DOH sectors on which I have experienced these configurations), what I found to be MUCH more annoying on the QR 787 were the IFE boxes under the seats. Even though they are already much smaller than e.g. on the A330/340 fleet, it's still absolutely irritating.

Emirates goes two-class to hike 777-200LR seating

Emirates is to increase the seating capacity on its Boeing 777-200LR fleet, by converting the three-class interior to a two-class cabin.

Some pictures of the cabin (Business and first) of of new 777 - 300 (A6-EQH).
The difference in business is especially the big screen.
The first places are installed in a kind of private alcove

Very nice pictures. And superb first class. But I wouldn't pay a high business class fare to be stuck in a middle seat!

I fly C, but you will never see me in a 2/3/2 config, no EK for me!
EK also comes more expensive every time I book a ticket.
I used to fly QR A380 ex BKK, heaven, but now they mostly fly 777 in 2/2/2, just acceptable.
Next trip with my 7 years young daughter, thus 2/2/2 is fine for once, to BRU A359 and exceptionally choose the middle seats for that reason 1/2/1 config, not flown the A359 yet, QR in September replaced the A359 by an A333.
