Strange to see such a precaution for such an extended period: a full 72 hrs!

Even stranger to see it is issued only for EBBR, not for all of the Belgian (public) aerodromes. The net effect is that EBBR/BRU cannot be filed as an alternate but (for one example) EBLG/LGG can - where's the logic?

And by the way: who is that "sender" EUECYIYN? I should expect a message like this coming from some EBxxyyyy? Perhaps posted by Eurocontrol on behalf of Belgian authorities?

Good catch Hawkeye !

I made a quick check and NOTAMs covering UK (EGLL), Netherlands (EHAM), Germany (EDDF), Sweden (ESSA), Romania (LRTR), Spain (LEBL), all show EUECYIYN as the source.

But then you have the die hard French (LFPG, LFML) showing LFFAYNYX
and Italians (LIMC, LIRF) showing LIIAYNYX.

Some of our ATCO members could shed some light on this ?

I find this,
Chapter 13.
AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION SERVICES
13.1
NOTAM ADDRESSING AND DISTRIBUTION
13.1.1
In addition to the distribution to individual States, all NOTAM originated worldwide shall also be addressed
to the European AIS Database (EAD) using the AFTN address EUECYIYN as destination address.
Note. Bilateral addressing agreements between States remain unchanged.
13.1.2
The EAD shall ensure distribution of NOTAM to all relevant NOTAM Offices (NOF) within its area of responsibility (EAD Clients).
13.1.3
NOTAM originated by EAD Clients shall be channelled through the EAD system and therefore indicate the
EAD AFTN origination address.
13.1.4
The EAD AFTN destination and origination addresses are as follows:

Type of message : EAD destination address : EAD origination address
NOTAM : EUECYIYN : EUECYIYN
SNOWTAM : EUECYIYS : EUECYIYN
ASHTAM : EUECYIYA : EUECYIYN
BIRDTAM : EUECYIYB : EUECYIYN
ATFM : : EUECYIYN
Freetext : EUECYIYX : EUECYIYX
