The figures are no longer published, but they are still calculated, of course, to feed the Eurowings statistics. And sometimes they leak out ;)

If the figures above and my calculations are correct, SN's share in BRU jumped to 42.6% in October (compared to 39.4% in September).
I see 2 reasons: first, the Thomas Cook agreement continues to positively affect SN's figures; and the Aviapartner strike that has led to a lower total for BRU (-2.4%).

You can find the Lufthansa Group statistics (with Brussels Airlines hidden into the Eurowings figures) on our main page.

Here is more:

SN's pax number in November: 738,351 (+ 5.4 %)
SLF: 76.07% (+ 1.2%)

Knowing that EW Group (EW+SN) had 2,705,000 pax in November (+10.6%), wit a SLF of 75.6% (+0.4%), you can make your own calculations on EW alone ;)

I have tried to draw more info fo SN and EW separately from these figures but, unfortunately, there are inconsistencies:

1. If I take SN's pax number for Nov 2017, i.e. 702908, the increase is 5.0% i.s.o. 5.4% given above. When SN was still giving official monthly figures, it was not unusual to revise the previous year's figures, so the 5.4% could be right.
2. The Nov LF given for the combined EW+SN is 75.6%; however, if you take RSK/ASK ratio (3622/4791) given in the austrian link above, the figure is 77.2%. I have occasionally noticed this kind of inconsistency before, and I wouldn't be surprised if the LF calculation (occasionally ?) includes other parameter(s) than RSK and ASK.

So,

- if you take the SN's pax number for Nov 2017 given by SN itself, the pax number increase for EW alone is 12.8%.

- nothing can be said about the LF for SN or EW alove, since we only have the combined ASK and RPK.

- SN's marketshare at BRU was 38.1%.

We really miss the official SN figures. :(

You asked for it, you get it!

In 2018, SN operated 80,505 flights and transported 10,026,241 passengers, sorry, guests. That is a new record and an increase of 10.5% over 2017 (+9.7% on the European network, +16.9% on the African network, +6.0% on the North Atlantic, +5.2% to the Middle East and +36.0% to Mumbai, which was operated for the full year 2018 vs only 9 months in 2017).

The passenger load factor also increased by 2.41 percentage points to 81%, another record. The cargo oad factor decreased slightly by 0.45 percentage points to 67.58%.

The strong passenger growth is mainly due to the cooperation with Thomas Cook Belgium, which added 26 summer holiday destinations to the network.

Now your turn: SN market share in BRU :)

Just out of curiosity: where do you get the info from. Are these figures still be available somewhere, somehow (preferrably per month)?

I prefer not to answer this question. Figures are not publicly available, but they are still computed to feed the agglomerated Eurowings figures. Let's say I have some contacts, re. my nickname...

So the big difference is because the Thomas cook flights it's the first year they are taken in account.

But what is the growth than without TC looks very small?

Just noticed that this figure of 10M passengers for last year was posted in the monthly traffic post: maybe better to have it in the general topic about brussels airlines?

Anyway, having carried 10M people is a big milestone for them and holding a market share within a breeze of 40% at their home airport is also something to highlight, IMHO.

To bad they do not want to claim any bragging rights?
Weird leadership this airline has, one which tries to hide and downplay their own achievements?!

A few remarks/questions:

The integration of Thomas Cook happened already in autumn 2016 if I'm not mistaken?
If so, it means their growth figures for autumn 2017 only show 'own' organic growth.
(and then it answers lumumba's question from above)

Is Thomas Cook adding adding anything to their african/american figures?
If not, then those figures show 'own organic growth too..

What's that other airline wrongfully pretending to be the biggest in Belgium for several years already, posting as traffic volume figure over 2018? They seem to have gone equally quiet on their successes as brussels airlines has: how the times they have changed from a couple of years ago...

I think it is interesting to keep a specific SN traffic topic, so yearly figures can stay here (maybe deleting "monthly" for the meticulous members :) ).

The TC integration was in autumn 2017. The big steps for traffic figures started at the end of that year.

It's also noteworthy that non-SN pax number decreased on the full year 2018 compared to 2017. That confirms that the former TC pax now in SN figures represent an important fraction of SN's growth.

Maybe :

2017 :
1. SN PAX.
2. Other PAX are TC Belgium PAX included.

2018 :
1. SN PAX are SN + former TC Belgium PAX.
2. Other PAX are former TC Belgium PAX not more included btw.
Big substraction.

The difference between the total amount of non SN passengers 2018 excluding TC Belgium because it has become SN leisure PAX, vs the difference of 2017 including TC PAX as non SN PAX?
Non SN are all the other airlines PAX.

Is it likely that SN (+TC) % of PAX @ BRU 2018 have grown faster despite of the 2018 new destinations or players like HU, CX, WB, EK evening flight, more TG, more ET, more AC year round or using bigger planes year round like UA ?

More figures to compare ? Knowing that BRU has welcomed 892.028 more PAX in 2018 in spite of the Aviapartner strike in october.
Cheers

The main page today gives the statistics of the whole LH Group, Austrian, Swiss, Eurowings (including SN). For the pure SN stats, you can only rely on this thread :)

SN in January 2019: 598,031 pax (+1.3% compared to Jan 2018)
Load factor: 73.45% (-0.86%)

Market share in BRU: your upcoming calculation :)

Here you are; better to be late than to be the late. :)
Marketshare for Jan 2019 was 36%, down from 36.4% for Jan 2018.

BTW, growth for total BRU pax was 2.6%.

It's seldom that SN grows less than BRU! What could have been the reason?

Jan18/Jan17 growth was 15.0% for SN and 5.9% for BRU.

The big step for SN was from the last months of 2017 when they took over TC flights and a couple of aircraft. No fleet growth since then.
So, little growth on short/medium haul flights which bring the bulk of the SN pax and the fact that the l/h fleet seems to be underutilized since the beginning of the present winter season (maintenance in LIS and thech-related cancellations). These might partly explain the slowing growth for both SN and BRU.

[Usual caveat: SN pax numbers do not include the pax carried by their charter operations; we know it is not negligible, although it's certainly lower than it was before the takeover of the TC flights.]
