It looks like easyJet abandons the fight as soon as Ryanair steps in in one of their routes!

Very big chance to see Oman Air next year at BRU. They shelved their plans to take Dusseldorf as an option.
Only BRU remains now and is on top of their list. It will be served by their B787 and on high peaks with their A330. It will be 6 times a week to a daily service.

LATAM is pending. A delegation visited BRU a while ago to check all facilities bcs we speak about their European hub (3 flights from 3 different cities).
More news for sure in the next months

3 flights from 3 cities... Funny as they're Oneworld... of course MAD is maybe a bit too much Iberia and LHR to crowded, but with DUS and Air Berlin, it would have stayed in the family...

Cheers,

Air Berlin is not the most strong and reliable partner to be honest.

Oneworld is always a very important alliance on BRU. There are more advertisements about Oneworld than Star at BRU.
Finnair, BA, Qatar offer very good and multiple times a day services to/from BRU. LATAM would be a very welcome new partner for BRU and connecting a missing link in destinations.
LATAM could be the trigger for Malaysian and Cathay to open new links to BRU as well.

But isn't that always the case? Don't you always need one bigger company so that others will follow? Let's say that Cathay comes first, then my guess is that LATAM and Malaysian will follow too. On Malaysian though: I don't see them come to BRU as they just left AMS (partly due to their accidents)...

One issue might be that AMS is a far more important ST-hub then BRU is a *A-hub? Both MH and KL connect AMS and KUL...

They had longtime codeshares (and still do) that was unaffected by them ending up in different alliances, and their schedules were coordinated. So that's unlikely to be the reason.

MH had major cuts to the long-haul route netwerk in general, so cutting AMS doesn't have to be related AMS specifically. If MH is expanding again it's far more likely they'll resume old routes than start BRU.

Doen't make sense, is that already confirmed by any source?

Those 3 cities are way to close to each other.
GRU is for sure one of them.
Number 2 will probably be between GIG en BSB.

Latam is still planning a major intercontinenal HUB in northeast Brazil but has not decided so far.
Natal has a brand new airport with many expansion oportunity, but a smaller city with few industrial development.
Recife has a recent and modern terminal but rather small, is the economical capital of the region.
Fortaleza is the biggest city with strong developed industry the last decade (until the nation wide crisis off course).
Salvador is a large city, mainly tourism but maybe a bit too far south to offer the same geographical advantage as the other cities mentioned which are an ideal gateway from Europe to the rest of the continent considering transit passengers.

It has always been a bad thing that all the HUB's for Brazilian carriers were in the deep south for the many passengers who travel from Europe or the US the somewhere else in the country. That is exactly why they want a major HUB in the northeast now.
As for my personally... let it be Fortaleza. So I could fly from home to... 2nd home. 8-)

VIDS means that Brussels Airlines' service to Stockholm Bromma will switch to Stockholm Arlanda.

Good for SN because Arlanda allows capacity increase, bad for customers because Arlanda is a 45min bus drive or 20min express train journey from Stockholm City.

Now, VIDS, what's your source? :)
