No idea what happened, but situation is back to normal and SN flight from BRU will land normally at 17:00.

Edit: From Flightradar24: NOTAM indicates runway closed for work, estimated to last until 16:30 UTC.

TC-ARP, a Pegasus Boeing 737-800 from Istanbul to Bologna landed on Bologna's runway 12 at 14:37L, slowed and vacated the runway via high speed turn off G. The airport reported the runway needed to be closed due to a gear problem of the Pegasus 737. A tyre had burst and an additional problem with the landing gear caused the aircraft to cut the runway surface over a length of about one meter right in the middle of the touch down zone.

Flights at London City airport have been disrupted this morning by protestors on the runway.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called to the airport at 05:40 after nine protestors from the Black Lives Matter campaign group.

The airport said flights were diverted to Gatwick and hoped to “resume operations as soon as possible”.

British Airways forced to land due to unruly passenger

A British Airways Boeing 777 from London Gatwick to Orlando on 8 September was diverted to Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, after a passenger became unruly.

Massachusetts State Police said the passenger, a 24-year-old man from Glasgow, Scotland, is being held by US Customs while awaiting deportation.

The flight landed safely in Boston after the report was issued by the aircraft crew at around 4:15 pm.

Not so important to mention (but hey, this is the diversion topic, isn't it): JAF ANR operations started 2 hours late on Friday (reason??), ending up with a diversion to BRU of the late evening arrival, about 2 hrs. after ANR closing hours. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airc ... em#b06705f

Is that due to a strong jetstream? A lot westward transatlantic flights took devious routes!
