SNBA and Africa

Post by Boeing767copilot »

SN Brussels Airlines anticipates the growing market demand with extra flights to Liberia and Ivory Coast. Starting on September 5, a second weekly frequency will be offered to Monrovia. As from October 31 SN will increase services to Abidjan from 3 to 4 weekly flights.

Again some good news.

Let's hope that traffic demand won't stop rising :)

But I guess an increase of frequency on some routes means a decrease on other routes. Why is this last fact never mentionned in press releases?

But it is good policy to say that a plane is withdrawn from an unprofitable route to serve a moreprofitable route.

I agree with you André, but SN isn't thinking like that apparently.

BTW does someone know which routes will be flown less frequently ???

Hi everybody.
There wil be no more non-stop flight's to Kinshasa anymore .The flight of Saterday wil stop in Douala this mean that SN wil have 3 flight's a week to Douala. Also Niaroby wil be 5 times a week and not 6 anymore.

Not surprising: TUI Belgium is flying there on the very same day (Sunday) as SN. Call it competition!

As an occasional visitor to this site, it never seizes to amaze me how many "experts" we have on these pages , mainly commenting on SN Brussels Airlines ,based on bits and pieces of seemingly inside information but in general based on assumptions by the sound of it. Being interested in airlines in general but Belgian aviation in particular i wonder why the daily operations of VLM, Virgin, Thomas Cook , Jetair etc... are never discussed here.
Looking forward to some reactions !!

Not sure what you mean, wildhair.

SN BA might be discussed more because it is the main operator at BRU, but VEX, TUI, VLM, Thomas Cook are certainly not ignored: make a search on these names with the serach engine on top of this page, and you will be amazed at the results.

Thanks for your answer André,
actually what i mean is that on the occasions i drop in , there allways seems to be some SN item either the fleet they should get or how they should set up their Network , etc ...
For ex i know someone close to Thomas Cook , and it seems they have had some serious technical problems in the past few days . But on the Forum no word about it . Maybe at SN the staff bring out all the dirty wash on Luchtzak .
anyway it is just an opinion no harm intended
thanks again for reply
maybe till some other time

Thanks for being faster than me, EBBR. And welcome to Luchtzak!

There have also been several posts on the compounded delays incurred by the Icelandair 767 flying for TUI Belgium.

This is no news to me.

The news is already widely spread throughout the industry.

Besides, Mombasa is not a real SN Brussels destination, its a TUI Belgium destination operated by SN Brussels Airlines, who promptly integrated the destination into their African network.

I guess the discontinuation of this route means that the deal between TUI Belgium and SN Brussels will come to an end soon.
