G-ZOGT, a Cirrus SR20, has ditched in the North Sea this afternoon, near Petten (NL). The pilot is reported as missing, says the Dutch Coast Guard.

André Turcat died yesterday 2016-01-04 aged 94.
He was the chief test pilot of Concorde.

Nice idea of Warsaw Chopin airport: different colour signs for Schengen and non-Schengen transfer passengers:

"New signage for transfer passengers. Please follow Blue line for Schengen flights, Greenline for Non-Schengen."

Yes it seems to be a nice idea, from a technical standpoint.

It is an indication on how the airport "works" but this will not help those passengers who need the most the information : Where do I need to go now?

The seasoned traveller will find his way even in an unfamiliar airport for as long as the signage is clear and correctly positioned.
The less frequent traveller is not helped at all by having now to treat another level of information : Schengen or not Schengen. Where is Schengen? I am not going to Schengen !

Actually, I for one would have to double check to know whether Cyprus is Schengen or not (it doesn't appear on the board !).

Airports must realize that it is not so evident for "low timers" to find their way. That the information, such as the gate number, is available on a FIDS may not even be good enough for some. Think of "I am flying to Barcelona and I see 3 different gate numbers. Yes one is FR, the other is VY and the third is SN, but I fly with Ryanair" :?

I like the colour lines guidance though, sorted by gate number would be great. It seems difficult at WAW as the "Non-Schengen" are interspersed.

Didn't know in which thread to ask my question. So, I will try it here.
I booked a flight with Brussels Airlines. On their confirmation they mention Air Sicilia as operating carrier.
Is there somebody who can give me an explanation ? Thanks.

Which flight was it? because Air Sicilia doesn't even exist anymore...

What could have happened is that there is a glitch in the computer system since Air Sicilia used IATA code BM which coincidentally happens to be the IATA code of BMI Regional and they do operate for SN

Thank your for responding to my question.
In the booking confirmation which I received immediately after booking, it said "flight operated by Air Sicilia".
On the e-ticket which I received later, it says indeed : operating carrier : BM Regional.
(The flight booked is SN 3661 09 FEB SXB BRU).
So, as you said, it's probably an IT problem and the flight will be operated by BM Regional.
Anyway, thank you for reacting.

Sunday, 10-01-2016

AEGEAN was notified by the Athens International Airport, today, Sunday 10th January, for additional security check to a passenger on the scheduled AEGEAN flight A3 688 from Athens to Madrid. Considering this information, AEGEAN has instructed the commander of the flight to land on the nearest airport. The aircraft has landed on the Palma de Mallorca Airport, where all the additional security checks were conducted for the aircraft and the passengers, as provided by regulations. The security checks revealed no issues and the aircraft departed from Mallorca to its final destination Madrid.

On Saturday, a private jet Citation CJ2 had a runway excursion just before take off from Norwich Airport. The airport was closed for four hours because the jet had to be removed (pulled from the grass).

Passengers on the jet: Vincent Kompany & friends. They returned from a soccer game at Norwich (FA Cup).

Sonaca of Belgium, a company based at Charleroi airport and specialised in the manufacture of slats for Airbus and Embraer, has been granted a US$8.5 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to build a plant in Romania to produce wing components for Airbus and Embraer. The new plant is due for completion within two years.

There is a remarkable report about a Belarus flight incident on Aviation Herald:

On 26th December 2015, a TransaviaExport Cargo Boeing 747-200 from Minsk (Belarus) to Abha King Khalid Airbase (Saudi Arabia), struck the engine #1 pod onto the runway at King Khalid Airbase while landing at the aerodrome. The aircraft rolled out without further incident. The #1 engine and engine pod sustained substantial damage.

According to internal reports The Aviation Herald received the aircraft was carrying 100 tons of 2000lbs bombs to be used in the armed conflict in Yemen. The aircraft was flown by a captain who hadn't flown in the last 7 months.

Following the roll out a maintenance inspection revealed that the engine #1 was damaged beyond repair, it was not even possible to close the engine doors anymore after they were opened. Nonetheless, the aircraft was prepared for a ferry flight to Minsk the following day, the aircraft commenced the takeoff run and entire flight on three engines (with #1 inoperative), the aircraft landed in Minsk without further incidents and remained on the ground in Minsk until Jan 6th 2016.

Hehe, if B747's can fly with five engines, why couldn't one fly with three? ;)

Seriously, though: I have a vague memory there do exist manufacturer approved procedures for flying four-engined planes on three engines only. But it must be a rather complicated process - with an individual approval process for each and every flight - and something makes me doubt this could be organised over night...

One jet engine (slightly damaged) as baksheesh??
