Well, ok, perhaps my writing sounded like panicking, and I must agree there was no reason for that. Still, the published level of service is disrupted, I do consider that a quite dark indication. We do not know the details of the "why", of course, and those who know will not tell - understandably, no blame! But it seems clear to me that ATCO staff are at the edge of being over-sollicited.
That no flights to or from EBBR/BRU were affected is no real surprise: Brussels ACC is the service for the airspace from FL195 upwards - the very few flights to or from Zaventem at this nightly time can be routed to remain below FL195, in the Belgian airspace aka EBBU FIR.
A question that some _might_ be able and entitled to answer: if emergency frequencies were/are still being watched, was it still by civilian staff, perhaps from another airport, or by the military?

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2016
Hello everybody,
FR24 shows a fire truck active as "FIRE507" at BRUcargo since a moment.
Is it waiting an emergency landing or inspecting a parked aircraft

Maybe for OE-GPS = Tyrolean Air Ambulance, coming from Palermo as TYW842S, about to land?Airbus A330 wrote:Hello everybody,

All vehicles such as fire trucks, winter ops, AI, BCU,... operating in the manoeuvering area are equipped with transponders now, so TWR recognizes them easily.Airbus A330 wrote:Hello everybody,

This sounds like a good idea, although I never realised before that FR24 also recognises them now.Tompompier wrote:All vehicles such as fire trucks, winter ops, AI, BCU,... operating in the manoeuvering area are equipped with transponders now, so TWR recognizes them easily.Airbus A330 wrote:Hello everybody,

Great system to enhance safety, especially when vehicles need to enter or cross an active runway.
The downside is a clutter of transponder read-outs when 7 or more vehicles attend an incident.
Was there only one fire truck visible on FR24?

Low-level coverage of EBBR is relatively poor, which may be why you con't see vehicles on the manoeuvring area too often on FR24. (same thing with taxiing aircraft, you don't see them too often, and certainly not all of them).
If you'd like a good example of an airport with (very) good low-level coverage, have a look at EHAM.

Thank you all for your explanations & details!
I already saw "SUPP" and "INSP" vehicles a few times.

JAF-6114 TB-6114 TFS-BRU (Tenerife-Brussels) from Saturday, ETA 15h40, is delayed: OO-JLO (737-800) is still on the ground in Tenerife at this very moment.
It seems that the aircraft had an unusal landing at Tenerife yesterday: the final approach was aborted and the aircraft then went into a long holding.

A Privilege Style 767-300ER (EC-LZO) is about to land in BRU, coming from Madrid as JAF-229P.Passenger wrote:JAF-6114 TB-6114 TFS-BRU (Tenerife-Brussels) from Saturday, ETA 15h40, is delayed: OO-JLO (737-800) is still on the ground in Tenerife at this very moment.

Perhaps backup for OO-JLO, who still seems to be on the ground at TFS (says flightradar24.com)

CRL seems to be closed, or at least reduced in capacity? A few diversions to LGG already. Anybody with more news?
EDIT: Apparently a PC-12 had a tyre burst.

My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.

The "rescue mission" was done by G-ZAPX of Titan Airways that flew AGP-TFS-BRU-LTN yesterday. EC-LZO operated a flight to/from PMI yesterday.Passenger wrote:A Privilege Style 767-300ER (EC-LZO) is about to land in BRU, coming from Madrid as JAF-229P.

On 09th May 2016, SN-3667 Brussels-Toulouse (OO-DWG Avro RJ-100) was climbing out of 07R when the crew stopped the climb at FL110 reporting a hydraulic leak. The aircraft entered a hold and landed safely back on runway 07L about 40 minutes after departure.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I saw on FR24 that SN is using today a Titan Airways A320 (msn4701 G-POWK). Is there a delay in delivery of one of its "own"?
