easyJet is expecting to finalise plans for a European air operator’s certificate (AOC) by early 2017.

The move comes following the UK’s decision to exit the European Union (Brexit) and will allow easyJet to continue operating 30% of its network that does not touch the UK.

Speaking at the release of easyJet’s full-year results, easyJet CEO Carolyn McCall said the airline is “close to completing” the process, although she did not specify where the new airline would be established.

The LCC, which already holds AOCs in the UK and Switzerland, plans to maintain its headquarters in the UK despite the new structure.

Easyjet is understood to be considering applying for an Irish AOC to ensure full access to EU countries following Brexit. Carrier is also eyeing The Netherlands and Cyprus.

In other news, easyJet is still considering the A321, although no decisions have been made.

And finally, easyJet leased a King Air jet to deliver engineers and parts wherever they are needed, in order to get planes back in the air.

easyJet signed a deal with TUI Nederland by which the tour operator will book seats on the low cost carrier to offer city trips to 5 European destinations from Amsterdam: Liverpool, London Gatwick, Rome, Milan and Lisbon.

From the Dutch Scramble forum:

"On Thursday 01 December, at gate H04, the crew of an Easyjet Airbus A319 (G-EZFP) accidentally set the parking brake during push back, resulting in the nose wheel to be turned 90 degrees and to be released of the pushback truck whereupon the pushback truck got stuck by the weight of the airplane."

And then the Tug Crew tried to pull the aircraft out of the mud without success.
What happened next is beyond belief ! the Captain Calls for Taxi ! and is going to try to free the stuck aircraft.

Only when the other EZY aircraft pushing back off the adjacent stand called him and said "do you realise you are in the grass?" the reply was "yes the tug failed to pull us out" he was then advised to stay where he was and get help. !!
Yep, I agree....he certainly needed help!!!
