EasyJet has signed a firm order for a further 36 A320 Family aircraft taking its cumulative order for the type to 451. The agreement for six A320ceo and 30 A320neo makes easyJet one of the world’s biggest airline customers for the A320ceo Family with 321 ordered and also for the A320neo with 130 on order.

EasyJet has recorded a record profit in the full year to September 2015. The budget airline told investors on 17 November that pre-tax profit had jumped by 18% from 2014 as a result of low costs.

Full-year revenue rose by 3.5% to £4.69bn (€6.68bn, $7.12bn) while profit fell in the middle of the guidance mark at £686m. Both numbers represent a record for easyJet.

EasyJet is seriously considering the A321, although current delivery dates pushed back until 2018-19.

In September, Lufthansa Group chairman and CEO Carsten Spohr said Eurowings and easyJet could potentially become partners, consolidating the European short-haul market.
However, speaking at the release of easyJet’s full-year results, McCall did not place much emphasis on the discussions.
“This is not top of our list at the moment, but I think you will see more conversations like this because low-cost carriers are driving profitability here in Europe. Low fares will always win on short-haul European routes, so I expect legacy carriers to do more on their efficiency and that the legacy carriers will be talking to all the low-fare airlines,” she said.

Through a partnership with FlightRadar24, users of easyJet’s iOS app can now trace the plane three hours ahead of their scheduled flight.

For short hop flights your plane could be coming from anywhere. It’s a novelty feature that will surely give some nervous travellers peace of mind, as well as being interesting for aviation fans.

In a practical sense, it would certainly help in times of long delays, which often happen in the winter due to severe weather. You’d be able to spot the plane on the app and know how far off it is from getting to your airport.

The kind of incident that occurs from time to time:

Incident: Easyjet A319 at Pisa on Dec 30th 2015, landed on closed runway

An Easyjet Airbus A319-100, registration G-EZBY performing flight U2-1847 from Manchester to Pisa, was cleared to land on Pisa's active runway 04L but touched down on closed runway 04R at 11:11L. The aircraft rolled out without further incident and taxied to the apron.

Item E (my highlighting) should read : RWY 04R-22L Closed, avbl as TWY only.
The important info is CLOSED and it is missing !

Also methinks RMK2 has higher importance than RMK1 (delay ) and should come first. Also too lengthy text, should start with "Caution, crossing active RWY on Taxi to TKOF ...."

And finally, a temporarily closed RWY must be marked by means of a cross, lighted at night, per ICAO Annex 14.

OK, the crew goofed but there were no safety nets i.e. proper NOTAM and cross on the u/s RWY.
In these circumstances, a human error is possible as no signal (or too poor signal) is there to take you out of the mind-set, i.e. RWY 04R is clearly visible with all its attributes : paint marks, tire marks, possibly lighting, operational ILS, ...
The crew may be used to land at LIRP and it may have been their first landing there since the NOTAM came in force, one week before. And actually it came in force with immediate effect upon issue on 23DEC 15:44 ....

So the runway that you know well is there straight ahead, you've landed there dozens of times before, nothing comes to you to contradict the comfort feeling and all the received signal confirm it is OK. This is the "confirmation bias" as there must be something real big to take you out of the mind set that "everything is OK".

So, "come and see me" for the two pilots for sure but if the ANSV does its job well they should also point out the weaknesses to ENAC and get things straight.
And BTW, they should also check the audio for the info passed by APP. Was it mentioned clearly that 04R was closed? Was the readback correct? If not then a slap on the wrist of the ENAV ATCO. It correctly informed and readback but pilot action differs, then again a confirmation bias issue which is why there are, should be, safety nets.

It seems to me that "available only as TWY " means "closed" for all other uses. But of course if the rules, which I don't know, specify otherwise....
