Or a daily service by 77W is under investigation :?:
One of the reasons why the current 77W might be useful, could be the extra cargo it can carry, in comparison to the 788. I don't know Thai's load factors, or what they usually carry in the hold, so this is just a theory.

Finnair pretty much does the same a few times per week with the A340. The load factor doesn't demand it, but the cargo does.

Yes indeed, the 343 are deployed on the HEL - BRU route thanks to the Finnair Cargo hub at BRU. :)

And don't forget that the A343 will be replaced by the A350 to BRU. First flight was somewhere in October if I remember well

Hi all,

In the BRU route newsletter the additional flights of EasyJet to Berlin are described more precisely

http://brusselsairport.cmail1.com/t/Vie ... E12DB8921D

"The route will now be served 16 times per week, with 3 return flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, 2 return flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays, and 1 return flight on Saturdays."

The other information is not new ...

Cheers,
Danny

In March, Cyprus’ Transport Minister Marios Demetriades had said flights to Brussels were not financially viable for airlines so the route became a Public Service Obligation (PSO) where €500,000 in grants was available since the end of 2014.

Ryanair said it decided not to take the government up on this offer, thus saving the Cypriot taxpayer €3 million a year.

Indeed. LCA being a new destination in the Ryanair network, they certainly cannot yet have crew based there. If it had been Paphos, it could have been a different story...

Lca is definatly not a new destination. I've been there many times before. Why would it have been a different story for PFO?

It think it's just possible to book such a flight, but it is not direct.
It is via Bucharest with long stopovers.

Looking at the blue air website, it is indeed with a (long) stopover at OTP

A long-awaited air route from Belfast (Northern Ireland) to Brussels could be agreed within weeks

A European airline is understood to be at an "advanced stage" of negotiations to launch a service from Belfast City or Belfast International. The business community has been lobbying for the service for many years.

The airline considering the route does not currently operate in Northern Ireland.

There is fierce competition between the two airports for new routes into Europe. Both are also pursuing options to begin services to Frankfurt and Munich. New routes into major European "hub" cities could attract support from Tourism Ireland, an important factor in making a new service financially viable for an airline.

Belfast City Airport presently has just one year-round international route, to Amsterdam. The operator KLM launched the service five months ago, with flights six times a week. An airline industry source said the new route was "hugely successful".

Summer routes operated by Aer Lingus from Belfast City to Malaga, Palma and Faro, and by Vueling to Barcelona, are due to end shortly, but all have performed well and are expected to resume in spring 2016.
