Spotter's be quick because this kind of operations should not last very long. I would not bet a single kopeck on them.
It will last as long as the lobster season, however they are trying to have "normal" cargo as well, inbound and outbound. Who knows?
Competition for Air Canada and Jet Airways? All depends on prices and quality I guess.
KF came in on 10/06/15. The outbound got cancelled, reportedly due to engine problems. The plane seems to be stuck at BRU, waiting for spare parts. The scheduled flights for 11/06 and 12/06 have also been cancelled.
Last year Air Algerie ordered two 737-700C at Farnborough.
These planes are easily to convert from passenger to cargo and back.
I've heard AH is willing to use these planes as full cargo on a route to BRU.
Seen the problems of AT's cargo plane CN-ROX and the big amount of cargo with destination ALG on ATs flights it may be a good timing to open the route.
However, are these planes allready delivered to AH? I didn't find anything on the internet (but took not too much time in looking).
About KF, they are doing quit well. Both flights usually are fully booked with general cargo on the way to Canada.
Let's hope the old DC10s can handle the flights as they are really old.
In the next coming 5 years, Brucargo North is change very drastically. The first phase started already.
Much more old buildings will be demolished, the firedepartment North will disappear and not airport related activities will disappear.
Besides the new hub for DHL, two new huge buildings will raise. One will be for Ziegler who will move from their current position at Brucargo to their new location at Brucargo North.
In meantime, the new Discount parking 2 is open and the paralel road next to the Haachtsesteenweg is under reconstrution.
The new Ziegler building will be at Brucargo, not Cargo North. Besides the LH technics maintenance hangar, almost all the rest will be taken by DHL Express.
As of mid October, Emirates Sky Cargo will operate via Brussels Airport twice a week. On day 1 and 5, a B777F will make a stop on the route from ORD to DXB. EK has commercial traffic rights to sell cargo on those stretches to and from BRU.

Thank you BRU for this info. But Ziegler can only move when their new building will be finished. It there an other place at Brucargo who will have the needed space to accomodate Ziegler? As it is the intention to centralise transport companies like DHL, Ziegler together on one specific place at Brucargo.

One of the three possible new cargo players for Brucargo. It was foreseen at the beginning of their pax flights that cargo flights would follow.
I'm curious about the second one. The third one would be difficult.
Very good!!

A few old buildings have already been broken down at the oldest part of (central) Brucargo, some others will follow in order to make room for new and larger buildings. Also the area used during construction of the diabolo tunnel on the right when you enter Brucargo can be used for further development.
