it's not an airline, it's a private fund, created on the side of the semi-public company liege airport, to aid (give subsidies) airlines who want to start new link to LGG.

BMI has received 500.000€ to cover the lost of this year.
Once the line is profitable, the money should flow the other direction during 7 years.

Thanks - I did know that it's not a new airline because I understand a few words of French so I can read the act ("Objet: ...").

Just wondering why a public service needs to establish a new "private" company for such fundings. Perhaps jobs creation (not for Luc Partoune though: "Les mandats d'administrateurs seront exercés gratuitement").

my idea is ... to distribute subsidies without the control of Europe ...
it's a private company, they do what they want with their money.

I guess job creation is one goal indeed... Increasing the attractivity of the region could be another.
but they could push other services once the relation is established ... you know ...

From LGG, VLM is offering 1 free ticket when you pay one.
2 kids travel for free if both parents are paying.

This is some real good deal now ...

VLM stops on the 16 of june already.
It takes time before people realise they can fly from their local airport. Lack of ads, lack of marketing makes the non-business links very hard to start...

I expect the same result for the Munich link very soon in fact.

If the MUC schedule would have been better, it "could" work better, but two midday flights from an airport halfway DUS (16 flights a day), CGN (12 flights a day) and BRU (7 flights a day) is... rather difficult...

Cheers,

Well, "Air Services Liege" (ASL) is based in ANR for years, and seems profitable.

the reservation for the summer was around 10-12%.
LGG mgmt is saying the marketing campain was too little, which I tend to agree with...
The online booking system was inefficient apparently (no skyscanner or google flight ?)
it takes time to get all agency organised and it takes even more time for the local to realise there is something new.

The best article with opinions of both parties is this one. In fact lgg mgmt is listing there an impressive list of "issues".

Another summary : FR : http://www.pagtour.net/index.php?option ... Itemid=125

Looks like 2 amateurs playing ping-pong. Lesson learned for next time i guess...
