Two remarks:

1. Sabena had separate flights from CRL and from LGG (and from ANR as well: I remember once seeing four Sabena aircraft together in LHR, with four different destinations in Belgium!)

2. All the Jetairfly flights from LGG are scheduled flights!

By the way, how did Air Corsica do in LGG last year and are they coming back this year?
Thanks

we have seen that this kind of route from MST or ANR are failing one after the other...
Munich isn't exactly a tourist destination either ...
A route to Nice, Barcelona or London could live from Liège, but munich...
Why weird? I recall that there is a car factory in Born which makes cars for BMW (ans there are more companies in that region). The Maastricht municpality has tried to lure LH to MST, whichs seems not to have succeeded, but their arguments were probably not that bad. I agree, he schedule doesn't allow day trips, but can be used. Moreover, it connects to the LH Asian flights. Finally, as BMI will alos take over the RTM flight, I reckon that the cost base for BMI Regional is lower than that of LH Cityline

2 answers! ;-)

1. I didnt't know that! I probably wasn't even born!

2. But they aren't daily...

There are currently a lot of ads in the brussels south train station about air corsica from lgg, so i guess its more than confirmed it will continue.

Still, I find those flights to MUC somewhat odd in that they will cannibalize the BRU flights to a certain degree.
And ... at LGG there´s no "regional competitor" to be driven out of the market ...

LGG´s local PTP market for MUC is way too small to justify these flights.

The only real ratio I can see behind this move is an attack against AF/KL/Skyteam :!: and - to a lesser degree - BA.
Choosing LGG over MST is logical in this context despite the local PTP demand ex MST is slightly higher than ex LGG.
I am certain that LH does not target Travellers from the Aachen region although LGG is certainly a useful alternative to flying from DUS/CGN/FRA - in particular because of much less traffic on the Autobahn/Autoroute (plus cheaper parking at LGG)

They've been flying twice daily (now three daily on weekdays and 2 flights in the weekend) to Rotterdam despite their flights to AMS. Not to emntion that this creates space on the fligts ex BRU which can be filled with additional passengers. Basically they do somewhat what TK is also doing at the moment, instead of another daily flight to a main airport, they try a regional alternative.

in the search engines (like skyscanner or google flights):
lgg-muc can be found, if you don't forget to specify belgium as source, and not BRU.
but they don't find any connecting flight with lgg-muc as the first leg.

let's hope it will be fixed or it will remains unused by most people...

It certainly will because listing in the CRS´s takes a while.
And even if fares start to appear in CRS it does not mean that all fares will be availlable from the start.
Usually the highest fares/booking classes are loaded first into the system.

Will it be possible to connect to asia from LGG?

For instance BKK....will it be convenient?

I'm always stressed to drive up to BRU, with the awful traffic...this might be a good alternative for me.

It is possible to to connect via MUC to BKK but not with LH as they serve BKK ex FRA only ...
MUC-BKK non-stop is served by TG only.
So, usefulness will depend on whether TG will offer through fares via MUC.
Timings do work out although with some waiting time in MUC both ways.
LGG-MUC-BKK ~2.5hrs layover
BKK-MUC-LGG ~3hrs layover

That would be nice, BKK-BRU is quite full particularly around school holidays...

it takes a long while indeed.
A flight to Los Angeles or New York is possible (although much more expensive than BRU or DUS) but a flight to Berlin or Oslo isn't.

VLM will start Nice, Avignon, Bologna and Venice.
That's quite a surprising news, and quite a big one too, when we compare to the plans they have in Antwerp.
35.000 pax expected for the summer season.

Fokker 50 or Sukhoi SSJ100 ?
