This only illustrates what a bunch of whining loosers / loosing whiners they are. I daresay all their other complaints are nitpicking of the same order. We should be grateful to them, for demonstrating their own narrowmindedness publicly.

Statistics for September (aena.es)

Alicante 1667 PAX / 16 Flights = 104,19 Average (LF 93%)
Barcelona 2407 PAX / 26 Flights = 92,58 Average (LF 82,7%)
Malaga 1832 PAX / 18 Flights = 101,78 Average (LF 90,9%)
Mallorca 1571 PAX / 16 Flights = 98,19 Average (LF 87,7%)

If I was Jetair I would increase the amount of flights to Alicante and Malaga next year. And maybe also start 3 weekly to Madrid. Spain looks really popular from ANR.

UK statistics will be available in 2 days (for SOU and LCY numbers).
For the other routes (GVA, HAM, TXL and MXP) I cannot find info online.

Number of noise complaints against Antwerp Airport:
2012 : 83
2014 : 57
2015 : 755 (Jan-Aug 2015)

Does this mean that the whole region around the airport has a problem nowadays with the new Jetairfly flights to/from Antwerp? Not really: 687 of those 755 complaints have been filed by just five people...

KriVa and I live almost ON the airport and hear maximum 5 seconds a day noise of airplanes. My parents (who live close to the complaining people) are complaining more about the BRU-headed traffic than traffic bound for/from ANR. I think "it's a little bit pulled by the hairs" ;)

it makes 151 complaint per person, so almost 1 every 2 days per person, they really should get a job!

It's clear that this is politically inspired and orchestrated by certain extremist politicians, one of them a former mayor of Mortsel whom created the permanent traffic jam in the whole city centre.
On the other hand, the aviation community at EBAW can and should put a lot more effort in noise abatement during their daily activities. And...dreaming out loud... the CS100 would make an even better neighbour. Or the E190 E2 in a couple of years...

I live 2,5 kms north of runway 11 treshold, and I really hear a lot more noise then 5 seconds a day. I don't mind - but I can imagine that people living close to the airport aren't that happy with the expansion that both VLM and Jetairfly have announced.

When VLM had choosen the Sukhoi 100 to replace the F50's, Jetairfly had no plans at Antwerp. In just a few years time, the scheduled flights at Antwerp Airport will be changed from turboprop into jet. I don't know how the Sukhoi performs regarding noise, but I'm afraid they will fuel the anti airport lobby.

On 14th Dec 2015, the famous Krijgsbaan tunnel (R11) will be opened for traffic, initially with 2 x 1 lane. Completion of the project is for spring 2016.

Interview with Marcel Beulens in HLN.be:

The Jetairfly Embraer will be positioned fulltime at Antwerp.

The new departure hall should be ready by April 2016: ANR is waiting for the permit.

No plans for flights to ski resorts: Belgians prefer to go there by car. On top of that, lack of snow this winter made it impossible for ad hoc flights.

In general I think it is correct that there is limited potential for ski destianations from Antwerp.

However I do see potential for Salzburg. Good for several ski resorts, but also potential as citytrip destination. And popular from RTM and EIN with Transavia, so you can offer Dutch travellers living in the South of the Netherlands or Northern Belgium an alternative via ANR. This region in Austria is at the moment not connected at all with Belgium,

Twice weekly with Jetairfly E190... I think it could work...

If I'm not mistaken, it will be the first time in many decades, that ANR will be open on Christmas and New Year's Day. However, it will be only for a couple of hours, I guess just to cater for the JAF flights.

(and I sincerely hope Christmas Day's winds will not get any stronger than today's full crosswind -gusts well beyond 25kts-, otherwise all the airport staff may be on duty for nothing...)
