I don't think so. I haven't spoken to someone from Jetair/jetairfly yet, but it looks to me as if the EuroAtlantic crew really had planned a stopover at LIS from the beginning. Maybe the stopover was needed to pickup extra crew, making it possible to do an immediate return flight Varadero-Cancun-BRU?

So perhaps this additional stopover wasn't announced to the fuel supplier, who still had a fuel instruction for a flight with the Dreamliner OO-JDL? Or perhaps the fuel supplier knew there was an aircraft change, but they hadn't noticed it was not going to be a nonstop?

Anyway, it seems they did wanted to avoid an overweight landing in Lisbon full aircraft, plenty of luggage, full fuel tanks). Don't know fur sure, but probably the aircraft would still be above minimum landing weight after a BRU-LIS.

If this would be the case indeed, it could be "good news" for Jetair regarding the indemnity, because Jetair then can have a talk with EuroAtlantic's liability's insurer.

A fueller doesnt put any fuel on the plane before he has spoken to the Flightcrew, either by phone or face-to-face

Someone has given a wrong order, I don't know who. But there are no 100 possibilities.

Actually, in many cases aircraft are "pre-fuelled" to an expected value to save time. The value is given to the fueller by the operations department of the airline or in some cases even the maintenance/engineering. Flight crew has the final authority to take -more- than what is pre-fuelled, but if they want to take -less- it's a "problem" as the plane has to be de-fueled and the de-fueling rate is a lot slower.

The stopover in Lisbon might have been justified by a problem of duty time for the EuroAtlantic pilots, who are based in Lisbon.

The Burundian general who launched the coup this morning ordered the closure of Bujumbura airport and land borders.

"I order the closure of the airport and border, and I ask every citizen and law enforcement down to the airport to protect it," General Godefroid Niyombare said in the radio broadcast.

Un avion de la compagnie Brussels Airlines qui devait atterrir à Bujumbura a été directement dévié vers Nairobi au Kenya, sa destination finale.
"Les 36 personnes qui devaient débarquer à Bujumbura ont la possibilité de rester à Nairobi ou de rentrer vers Bruxelles", indique Kim Daenen de Brussels Airlines.

Le vol qui devait relier Bujumbura à Bruxelles ce mercredi soir est quant à lui annulé. Quelque 110 personnes devaient quitter le Burundi à son bord.

Un nouveau vol Bruxelles-Bujumbura est prévu vendredi. Son maintien ou son annulation feront l'objet d'une décision jeudi, indique Brussels Airlines, qui ajoute que son personnel sur place est "sain et sauf".

The fate of the next flight to Bujumbura, friday, will be decided tomorrow.

SN's flight to BJM diverted to NBO today due to the unrest in the capital of Burundi.
The next flight on Friday has been closed for bookings to make room for possible rebooking of passengers in case it can operate as scheduled (situation permitting).

SN 453 replaced by SN 1455 BRU NBO BRU, not stop at Bujumbura, today.

Extra busy at Malpensa this afternoon. Many aircraft in hold patterns to the south, including this SN flight from BRU. http://rb24.com/airport/MXP

Eurocontrol says that there is a radar issue in the Rome area causing significant flight delays. Not sure whether the two events are related, but I suspect they are.

Am in MXP as we speak - the excuse here is thunderstorms. They put us in the bus and then after 15 minutes unloaded the bus ... New estimated departure time 16h20. I think we will be lucky if we are out of here by 5pm.

Indeed. Malpensa Airport just published this: "eccezionale nubifragio a Malpensa. Aeroporto a flusso zero (no atterraggi e decolli) per 45min fino alle 15. Situazione meteo ancora critica"

Waw was unaware it was that bad - the captain mentioned that the main cause of the delay was that the fuel company DID NOT want to put fuel in the plane for 2 hours ... Anyone knows why that would be? I do understand that ramp operations have to be stopped in case if thunderstorms- but other planes were taking off, so ramp operations had resumed. Thanks for any insights you might have

Last Monday, a Ryanair flight from Figari to Charleroi apparently was grounded in Figari because a cell phone onboard went missing. Apparently the pilot called the police to search all hand luggage, thus delaying the flight.

Is there someone with a subscription on La Dernière Heure who can tell us what happened? Because the open part of the website doesn't says so:
