Ryanair would consider moving to Paris Orly (in french)

http://bfmbusiness.bfmtv.com/entreprise ... 53325.html

There is no base in MMX, it's only a destination.

With the launch of Verona as a new destination, the number of Ryanair destinations reaches 189, one for every seat of the Boeing 737-800.

Ryanair has introduced a live flight information update service by Twitter from which you get an answer in seconds:

1. Follow @RyanairFlights
2. Send your FR flight number by Direct Message (FRxxxx)
3. Receive your flight update within seconds

I don't know of any other airline which offers similar service on Twitter (although it is rather common by SMS).

Europe has :
- 2551 small airports
- 938 medium airports
- 153 large airports
It's surely not the end of the expansion of Ryanair

Satire time!

Check the hand luggage box on the following page:

Translation: "Don't let yourself get robbed at the gate! Make sure you know how much you can take."

Ryanair is admitting that they're robbing the pax!
A rather funny translation mistake.

A story from 29th December 2014, only now in the Belgian press:

tweet from a certain Ryan Hand: "...What a disgrace, there's a woman crying at the @Ryanair check in desk who's been made to pay more for emotional baggage..."

reply-tweet from Ryanair: "...Hi Ryan, which airport is this happening at?.."

Apparently the guy (m/f) from Ryanair on duty that moment to watch Twitter, didn't knew that Ryan Hand is a British comedian and TV presenter who wanted to joke about the many surcharges.

Oh you mean 1 off these 10.000 boring old jokes?
The only thing that the guy (m/F) at Ryanair wanted to do was to help out.

Ryanair to switch 5 Rome routes from Ciampino to Fiumicino

Ryanair will transfer five Rome Ciampino-based routes to Rome Fiumicino beginning this summer. The ItaliaVola flight blog states Bari, Brindisi, Comiso, Marseilles, and Seville are the destinations affected.

In related news, Vueling Airlines has thrown in the towel and will give up its domestic routes from Fiumicino to Bari, Brindisi and Lamezia Terme from January 12. It competes with Alitalia and Ryanair on all three routes.

Ryanair wants to take on Lufthansa in Germany.
"We currently have market share of around 4.0 per cent in Germany. In the next three to four years, we're aiming to increase it to 15-20 percent," Michael O'Leary told the business daily Handelsblatt.
He dismissed Lufthansa's plans to expand its own budget flight operations. "There's a long history of expensive airlines trying to find a foothold in the low-cost segment. The jets are just repainted and the in-flight meals are cancelled. But that doesn't make them a low-cost airline," he said.
Ryanair is planning to expand to Germany's major airports to attract higher-paying business passengers, who are Lufthansa's core customers, O'Leary said. "We've just started in Cologne and in the winter, we'll start flights to Hamburg and expanding our services to Berlin. More airports will follow," he said.

Little message from Flightradar24 to Ryanair: "Hi Ryanair. Your aircraft EI-EKR is using the transponder code (4CAA11) of Russian aircraft for 2 years. Fix? "

The transponder code indeed belongs to a Transaero aircraft.

The transponder code indeed belongs to a Transaero aircraft.
This "4CAA11" is not per se a transponder "code" as in squawk but the ICAO 24-bit code, a unique identifier for an aircraft that it keeps during all its operational life.

Maybe this specific transponder, originally Ryanair, ended up in a Transaero bird?
In which case it remains with the new owner to set the code right.

Ryanair is planning to trial entertainment and wifi systems in the coming months.
It is believed the free in-flight entertainment system will be tested on holiday routes this summer.
Ryanair spokesman John Hurley confirmed the service could then be rolled out across the airline's 300 aircraft.
Wifi facilities will be free to business customers, but economy travellers may have to pay.

The Regional administrative tribunal (Tar) of Lazio confirmed the 850,000 Euros fine imposed on Ryanair by Agcom, the regulator and competition authority for the communication industries in Italy. The Tar rejected the airline’s lawyers’ appeal, so the low-cost carrier will have to pay a penalty for giving “Insufficient and inadequate information on insurance policies”.

Ryanair will fly from Lelystad airport.
It is the biggest general aviation airport in the Netherlands and the runway is 1250mt long.

I can't read the whole article, but when are they planning these flights? Because Lelystad will expand the runway and after that add 'real' terminal facilities, it's intended to become a secondary airport for Amsterdam (with the intention to keep as much point-to-point leisure traffic in Lelystad to relieve AMS for hub traffic). With FR hinting at a base at AMS but complaining at the high prices, it could be logical for them to go to Lelystad once it opens as a real commercial airport (from the current users of AMS no one actually wants to move for obvious reasons).
