I don't want to interrupt your party, but today's rule has nothing to do with that court verdict I was referring to (back in September 2015). That was a criminal court case against Ryanair: a condemnation for false employment: French ground staff & local admin that were 100% based in France but had to work with an Irish labour contract. As far as I know, Ryanair didn't appeal against the second criminal conviction.

Today's EU Court decision (= 27th April 2017) is for a labour dispute for aircrew.

But then, also today, there is a development in another court case for which Ryanair will probably not send out a press release... I will post it in a 2017 topic.

So what does the word "twice" mean in your statement?

Ryanair was convicted by a French court. They went into appeal, but also have lost that appeal.

1 + 1 = 2. Two. Hence my "twice" (deux fois / twee keer).

Didn't know one could be convicted twice for the same thing? I thought appeal was to re-confirm (or undo) a former ruling? ;)

In fact the ruling doesn't say where social security has to be paid.
If simply says the country suspecting fraude should not go to court, but contact the country in which social security is paid, and ask to investigate the case.

When you go into appeal and you lose your case there too, you aren't convicted twice. You are just convicted in appeal as a confirmation of first leg.
