Re: Ryanair in 2015
Ryanair yesterday challenged Google to take action to protect customers against so-called 'screen scraper' websites who sell Ryanair flights at prices higher than Ryanair sells the flights themselves.
These sites take information from the airline's website and provide it to customers on secondary sites, while charging additional fees.
The Irish airline says that these sites do not make it clear that they are not affiliated to Ryanair.
Ryanair has accused Google of taking payments from sites such as eDreams to give its site priority over Ryanair’s own site in search results, it says that this leads to overcharging and other difficulties for Ryanair passengers.

And of course mol si more known worldwide than gustin, Gustin haven't pretended to fly the aircraft with one pilot, replacing the first officer with a cabin crew, to charge the toilet or to make the pax travelling standing in the cabin, are you surprised really?

Re: Ryanair in 2015
Talks are ongoing between Ryanair and the Finnish airport operator Finavia over opening a route between Helsinki and London Stansted.
Meanwhile the low-cost operator is cutting flights elsewhere in Finland. Operations at Lappeenranta, on the Russian border, are set to shut down completely. Tampere will see services cut from seven destinations to just two from next summer.
That’s partly due to the isolation of Finland, as planes can do two runs within Europe in the time it takes to go from the western edge to the far eastern border in Finland.

Re: Ryanair in 2015
you mean west of Munich, Memmingen airport is 116 km west and it takes 1h25.airazurxtror wrote:Ryanair is in negotiations with Munich Airport to start flying from the southern hub as part of a strategy to aggressively expand its German market-share.
The Irish carrier hopes to start flying from the Bavarian capital by Winter 2016, of "if possible sooner," said head of marketing Kenny Jacobs.
Ryanair is currently in negotiations with the airport over the charges it would pay to use the runways, and the time windows in which it could take off and land, reports the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ).
The news comes as confirmation that Ryanair is seeking to change its strategy in Germany away from flying to provincial airports such as Memmingen – an old military airport around two hours to the east of Munich - and Frankfurt-Hahn.
Memmingen would continue to serve primarily tourists, while Munich would be for business clients.
Possible routes are Munich-London and Munich-Hamburg.

No he means Munich ... As in MUC
Re: Ryanair in 2015
You did not read my post, I was correcting the fact that Memmigen would be east of Munich and 2h away, which is false. Your answer is totally off.sean1982 wrote:No he means Munich ... As in MUC

This thread is by far the most interesting on Luchtzak and is a reflection of Ryanair's effect on European airlines.

Re: Ryanair in 2015
Ryanair will be operating nine new routes to and from Malta next summer, bringing its total of destinations from the island to 36 – two more than Air Malta.
The new routes are Baden, Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Gdansk, Poznan, Manchester, Rome Fiumicino (perhaps replacing Ciampino) and Budapest.
The airline is also increasing the frequency of its flights to Birmingham to thrice weekly, Edinburgh to five weekly and London Luton to daily.
An additional aircraft will be based in Malta, bringing the total to three.
Regrettably, no new route to Charleroi.

Re: Ryanair in 2015
Ryanair announced Wednesday an increase of the number of its flights between Berlin Schönefeld and Cologne / Bonn from the current five to six per day, from 16 November - with prices starting at 9,98 euros. Reason is the "overwhelming demand."
The Berlin-Cologne / Bonn appears to Ryanair as a great opportunity to gain a foothold in the German market. It links two sites of federal ministries and many government officials use it daily.
Ryanair had announced in the summer they'll be trying to increase their market share in Germany from the current five to at least 20 percent. This should be done mainly at the expense of crisis-ridden Air Berlin, the current number two in the German market. But even industry leader Lufthansa has to worry about its market share.
With the summer timetable 2016, the low-cost airline will offer 19 new routes from Berlin, including to Alicante, Bratislava, Glasgow or Venice. On the list are also numerous holiday destinations that are already served by Air Berlin or easyJet. These include Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca or Tenerife. For the planned expansion Ryanair opened on 27 October a base in Berlin, with five Boeing 737.
Overall, from April 2016, Ryanair will to offer 27 routes from Berlin, and carry over 3.5 million passengers per year.
