impact on aviation MH17

Post by regi »

as just anounced , let us look at the impact on aviation of the MH17 disaster.
I will try to not cross the line of aviation, avoiding politics, OK for you dear members?
So what we have already:
  • detour around conflict zone in Ukrain , and now also at other places ( Iraq)
Dobrolyot flights suspended after cancelling of several contracts according western sanction legislation.
not allowing flights of some western companies accros Siberia.
I read in Jane's the cancellation of a APC joint program. How about the cooperation with Boeing and Airbus?
Both companies purchase titanium forgings for landing gear from Russia. And both companies supply Russia with entire airplanes , spare parts, and new equipment. Engines, electronics , whatever. Is everything cancelled?

Please add the list. Try to abstain from personnal views.

Some routes might become unviable due to detours and relatively safe places may get suspended because of risks.

Not necessary: the same BBC article states that Russia has banned Ukrainian flights over its territory!

Hello

Aeroflot isn't allowed to transport any type of cargo from/to Europe.
Cargo with destination Russia is growing at several European airports (especially out of Germany)

Greetings,
All my posted timings are local !

Malaysia Airlines is slashing 1/3 of its workforce (6,000 jobs out of 20,000) and cutting back its global network in an effort to restructure its business after the two major accidents it incurred.

MH will axe a number of routes to China and might also cancel its Frankfurt flights.

MH might not survive the two crashes as many travellers have cancelled their reservations or looked at other carriers.
