KLM to introduce new livery

Post by OO-ITR »

This evening a brand new E190 should arrive at AMS with the brand new livery.
Until now this livery hasn't been discovered/photographed yet. So there is a lot of speculation on social media and blogs.
Here some livery concepts made by aviation enthusiasts. I personally like the 3 first ones and the last two.

Uncharcteristic liveries in the link, hope KL stays a bit conservative.

I think the thread title could be improved by either adding a question mark or the word "rumors"

Indeed, the new livery is pretty much confirmed, though no reports on what it actually looks like :)

Hm... From what I read on KLM twitter, the livery would only be for either the embraer or cityhopper.

Now, weren't there rumors that all short-haul flights were to be operated by cityhopper? Maybe this new livery will serve to distinguish mainline KLM from the revamped Cityhopper?

I haven't seen the new livery, but I'm pretty sure it will remain blue. I remember an old publicity campaign in which KLM asked: "Why are the KLM planes blue? Because it was the first airline in the world and they could chose the colour."

The new livery is only for the KLM Cityhopper fleet.

Looks like the blue goes a little bit lower on the fuselage than it currently does.
And I agree with tangolima, the 'cityhopper' titles seem to have been added right after the KLM title, iso being on the white lower portion of the fuselage.
When are we going to see it sideways?

Not sure about other angles, but from this angle... one would almost think they had a look at the TUI livery...

Hope its for cityhopper only, blue seems brighter too.

The darker blue of the stripe on belly and engines, light blue top lowered to door base level. and white tail would look super for mainline KLM.

Im' not a KLM fan, but I agree that the new livery looks very nice. My guess is that Kl will test the public's reaction on Cityhopper aircraft. If the reactions are positive, they will give all their aircraft the new livery (just a guess).
In favor of quality air travel.

PH-EXD has landed in Amsterdam this morning.

Photo's PH-EXD:

Article about KLM's new design (article is only available in Dutch):
http://www.zakenreisnieuws.nl/nl-NL/art ... p_Schiphol

The aircraft is baptized "Dolfie", because the new design makes it look like a dolphine - KLM says (dolphine is "dolfijn" in Dutch)
