President Obama will arrive Tuesday in the late afternoon at Brussels Airport from the Netherlands. For safety reasons, the time of landing will be kept secret until the last minute so it's not looking good for us guys

They just announced that the G8 summit in Sochi is cancelled and that the G7 will meet in Brussels next June.
So Obama is coming to Brussels again in june

Indeed, there will most certainly be a second visit from Obama to Belgium on 4-5 June.
Brussels was picked because it is one of the few places in the world which can handle all the practical issues involved with hosting such high security events on relative short notice thanks to the expertise it has gained from all the EU summits.

It's due to arrive in the later evening not the late afternoon and it will be dark then so no decent opportunity to take pictures, however it's scheduled to depart tomorrow on a more decent hour when there should be some light available.helifreak wrote:President Obama will arrive Tuesday in the late afternoon at Brussels Airport from the Netherlands. Anyway I will give it a try this afternoon/sunset... RWY 01 for operations and some transports to come in!
And still an early arrival is not totally out of question
btw tommorrow better light but if taking off 25R = difficult to spot since the grass hill would most probably be closed ...

25-26 March: traffic disruptions at and in the vicinity of Brussels Airport
The visit of the American president, Barack Obama, to Belgium entails extensive security measures. These measures may cause delays for arriving and departing passengers between Tuesday afternoon 25 March and Wednesday evening 26 March.
Air traffic will not be interrupted, but delays are possible. For questions about your flight please contact your airline.
During these two days, access to the airport both by road and rail may be disrupted at some moments. Passengers are therefore advised to provide ample time to arrive at the airport. Arriving passengers too may meet with disrupted traffic when leaving the airport, so allow for these in your planning.
Please check the traffic information on the radio and the internet for more details on both days. Brussels Airport will use Twitter to inform the passengers.

According to a spotter in BRU for the moment and met the police, it's ok to spot this afternoon but when Obama arrives this evening, spotting will be forbidden in the immediate perimeter of the airport, and we risk fines up to 250€...

So making pictures at public places will be rewarded with a fine? Yesterday a police agent (in the news) claimed that persons who'll photograph on the graveyard and in the non-public gardens will be fined..hvs89 wrote:According to a spotter in BRU for the moment and met the police, it's ok to spot this afternoon but when Obama arrives this evening, spotting will be forbidden in the immediate perimeter of the airport, and we risk fines up to 250€...
