2014 Ostend-Bruges airport (OST/EBOS) latest news
There has been speculation in another forum that Easyjet may be considering flights to and from Ostend. Does anyone know anything about this?

Are you talking about the Easyjet thread on PPRUNE? There someone simply expressed surprise that Easyjet or Ryanair do not serve Ostend from the UK. I have not seen anywhere that Easyjet are contemplating Ostend.
I did read somewhere that Ryanair are negotiating again with Ostend however. I don't find the article back, but I do find a recent comment from Michael O'Leary, where he: "doesn’t rule out the possibility that Ryanair will fly from the airport of Ostend (Flanders) in the future as well. "
For the moment, the biggest "hope" for Ostend, outside of Jetairfly, is Ryanair in my opinion. Easyjet and their A319's would be great, but not expecting them to start Ostend. Easyjet's expansion focus now is on business travelers, and also other markets are taking precedence over Belgium.

If only they had Embraer's, that would be the perfect fit for Ostend. That's why I always thought flybe would fly to Ostend one day.

The trend in passenger traffic is relative good for OST over the past years thanks to JAF and HQ mainly, the cargo numbers on the other hand are tumbling down since 2007...

From 2017 Egyptair cargo will fly to OST with A330 aircraft to replace the current A300.

2014 was a bad year for OST. The number of passengers increased slightly by 2.2% to 253,044, thanks mainly to a better load factor on Jetairfly planes. But freight decreased by a whopping 46.5% to 24,885 tonnes, because ANA Aviation moved to Liège.
