Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2014

Post by Bel33 »

SN 359 changed as SN 1359 was finally cancelled. It seems, this time, it's not due to troublesin Kin! Again technical problems with an A333?

Why not due troubles in Kin? There were shots fired again...
When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

I just witnessed a dogfight between two passenger planes
Due to the hail above BRU both BEL45D and AZA88Z could not land. Instead they had to wait at both 6000ft and 7000ft. Then they decided to chase each other. From the ground with only 1000ft clearance it looked a few times like they would collide! Very spectacular view! Entertaining the passengers? :D

Something going on at Brussels Airport? All widebodies are delayed (SN, UA, DL, US, AC, 9W,... except SN501).
I thought it had something to do with the weather in the USA, but flights to Africa and India are also affected...

EDIT: forgot to mention HU and TG, delayed as well.

Brussels Airlines tries to inform passengers in advance the consequences of the labour disruption observed in the catering company LSG Skychefs. A majority of long-haul flights cannot take off with the necessary catering. "We advise passengers to eat and drink a minimum before taking their flight. We arrange ourselves the distribution of snacks during the flight," said the spokesman of the company, Geert Sciot.

The staff of Skychefs at Brussels Airport has stopped working Saturday after the death of a worker following an accident on the tarmac. "We try by all means possible to predict what to eat and what to drink on flights," said Geert Sciot . Employees of the company will buy snacks and drinks in nearby stores and load them in various planes before departure.

The spokesman explained that it is difficult to call all passengers. "Travellers who have a connection in Zaventem are now flying and ignore everything about the incident here." Brussels Airlines flights record delays of up to 15 minutes for the time being. The company cannot say how long these inconveniences will still take.

It seems indeed that there are problems again with SN's long-haul fleet. A flight to Douala and Yaounde (not scheduled on Saturdays) is operated as SN1367 and indeed SN465 does not appear in the airport departures list.

No problems at all, SN1367 is just a rerouting that is still linked to the ILS issues in NSI. The ILS is up and running now so normal routings will resume soon.

This sunday, flight SN 241 to Monrovia - Freetown is cancelled and this moning SN 204 from Banjul - Dakar was also cancelled. It seems that one of the A330-300 is again out of service... not a good signal for the company which is no more reliable in the point of view of the passengers...

Imagine if this would be an FR flight what the reactions would be.

Scam, ridiculous, disgusting, cheap solutions, LCC hell, etc ... come to mind

I'll add : low-cost maintenance, underpaid engineers, passengers treated as cattle ... what a pity it's not Ryanair !

There may be a big difference: FR would not delay a flight by 24 hrs, it would cancel it outright and tell the pax to either book an alternative FR flight many days later or be reimbursed for whatever little amount the paid. SN will accommodate its pax in a hotel, feed them and allow them to make a phone call, and in addition pay them 600 euros for the delay.

LOL, Andre but guess you're right..
Altough it definately shows SN has an ageiing fleet with problems and no real future plans as an answer to it..
The age of the fleet is quite scary,...

Won't compare it with FR, but the reactions on Jetairfly TUC could come to my mind..

I know technicals and maintenance are more important then age but still...

New types flown 2022.. A339

Wrong again, FR would fly in a spare airplane with only a few hours delay, with no need for hotels, etc...

Wrong : if an aircraft becomes unserviceable, Ryanair will put a spare one in line.
I recently experienced it : the plane coming from Budapest went u/s on arrival at Charleroi; a spare aircraft was brought for the return flight to BUD and we took off only half an hour late.
IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING.
