In China the separation is 300m and not 1000ft.
13100m is 42980ft so there is no need for a level 431.
I think 431 is the level they achieved during certification.
I forgot the upper limit of RVSM airspace (my mistake), it is true that at this moment the flight level is 13100m, which corresponds to 43000ft to be set by the pilots. Above RVSM airspace, this gives 600m separation. But since you mention 300m, I have to say that 300m separation (RVSM) and FL430 is an impossible "marriage".

If RVSM would be extended upwards, the limits would have to be changed, because it is vital "feet-flyers" keep their 1000ft separation (this is the main reason why you cannot use the meter indication on your flight displays and "round it off" to a feet value. You HAVE to use the provided tables, and you only use the feet indications on these tables). So it is possible in the future 43000ft cannot be used anymore, it would have to be increased to 43100ft or you would only have 900ft separation with the lower used flight level (42100ft in the opposite direction). If that would ever happen, the 787 would lose it's highest available flight level in China. 777 is exactly the same, its maximum certified pressure altitude is 43100ft.

PS: aircraft testing and certification is not really "let's see how far we can go". It's a very well predertermined testing of values the aircraft is designed for. Real limits depend on limit loads, ultimate loads,... etc. If the certified altitude is F431, it is a very well chosen number in very early stages of design "on paper".

Something wrong with JDL? 6 hours delay on the PUJ and now operated by B763?

If the timetable of the international flights of JDL, as mentioned earlier in this thread, is correct, then we can expect a lot of delays, cancellations and replacements. Those flights are too much and too tightly planned just for one plane to operate, the slightest problem will lead to long delays.
I hope all the promotions and celebrations of the last weeks will help people to keep a good picture of JDL, and avoid to make any comparison to the goold old days with the delays of TUC...
Strange actually, when today's delay would have been with old TUC, it would probably already be mentioned in a separate thread, and publicised in newspapers...

According to Airline Route, the initial transatlantic schedules of the 787 are as follows with 6 weekly flights:

eff 27DEC13 Brussels – Cancun 1 weekly (Previously scheduled on 20DEC13)
eff 29DEC13 Brussels – Santo Domingo – Punta Cana – Brussels 2 weekly (Previously scheduled on 22DEC13)
eff 30DEC13 Brussels – Varadero – Cancun – Brussels 1 weekly (Previously scheduled on 23DEC13)
eff 01JAN14 Brussels – Punta Cana – Montego Bay – Brussels 2 weekly (Previously scheduled on 21DEC13)

But according to the jetairfly.be website, from 1 JAN 2014, the timetable should look as follows with only 5 weekly flighhts:

5 TB502 CUN-BRU 1215-0520+1
6 TB601 BRU-PUJ 0615-1200
6 TB602 PUJ-MBJ 1250-1430

7 TB703 BRU-SDQ 0810-1335

Not according to the Airline Route schedule, nor the timetable mentioned on the Jetairfly website...

I think OO-JDL was scheduled to fly this flight.
What went wrong?

Anyway, even the 5 day schedule leaves very little time on Saturday and Sunday morning between arrival and departure in Brussels...

Nope.. Nothing is wrong with OO-JDL. It operated JAF501 BRU-CUN-BRU and is now scheduled to operate JAF701 BRU-SDQ-PUJ. This was already changed mid november in order to create enough ground time in case of AOG's. JDL did perfect till now. Jap had some minor technical problems and spareparts had to be shipped in, which caused the delay.

And here is how PH-THK, from Jetairfly's Dutch sister company Arke will look (PH-THK has just left the paint hall):

Arke will this receive 3 Dreamliners! (The first one now, the second one in December "2013" (sic) and the third one in March 2015) vs only one for JAF...

Will they have the same layout with 300 seats?

Arke operates 5 767's but I heard they will reduce their widebody fleet...when you know that it doesn't look that good. It has been known for years that Arke would get 3 787's, simply because they have larger long haul operations compared to bigger sister Jetairfly.

Still a bit off topic:

On 4th June, Elie Bruyninckx will accept delivery of the first Arke 787 in Seattle. Landing in AMS on 5th June. Second will arrive in December 2014, third in March 2015.

For the 1 year anniversary I've just re-edited my pictures (from 2x3 into 16x9) of the JAF787 arrival flight on 04/12/2013.
