Canadian human-powered helicopter wins $250,000 competition

A team of Canadian engineers has officially won one of the largest prizes ever awarded for aviation achievement, the $250,000 Sikorsky Prize for human-powered helicopter flight, which had gone unclaimed for 33 years.

The human-powered helicopter was the first in the contest to reach three metres and stay up for a minute in a 10-square-metre area.
