Will it be twice daily with an A332 ?

Everything is requested with A333 I thought, will check it again.
Probably it will be the same as now, a mix by both types

Yes, they'll fly daily to BRU in august, 6x weekly from september till the end of the summerseason, 4x weekly in the winterseason.

Just read in TM Aviation online:

Due to the current devaluation of traffic ET will suspend its flights to/from Brussels as from the 1th of Dec 2013.
:o :(

This seems to be correct, after 01DEC2013 there aren't any flights loaded between BRU & ADD:

If it was reason to stop for ET to fly to BRU because of low demand then it will be even more worse for SN to start flying to ADD.
But who knows, maybe in some time.

I think that Nordikcam meant that it is one competitor less to East and Central Africa. Initially, SN was cosesharing with ET, but when they saw that ET was also getting passengers from Brussels continuing through ADD to other African destinations, SN stopped the codesharing.

One of the key niche markets ET were relying on in BRU was onward connections to FBM, but ever since Brussels Airlines and Korongo started offering BRU-FIH-FBM, this niche of theirs was under pressure...
We now have on average 20 pax connecting through FIH, so after DEC this is likely going to increase.
Now lets grow Korongo, and allow feed through EBB too....

Especially now that Korongo will base its second 737 in FIH!

I wonder where they will get it and if they put it into SN's fleet.

Are we sure the ADD-CDG leg of the ET fights will be discontinued as well? If not, AFI pax departing from Paris may continue to use ET to get to destinations beyond ADD as well.

Correct. And if ET handles the issue intelligently, they will propose to pax originating from BRU to use the TGV to CDG: they could even codeshare on that train section of the trip.

As far as I can see, ET also cancelled (dropped) CDG.

I checked flights in bookingengines as from December, January and February and no flights of ET to CDG are loaded

That´s strange because all the flights I did with them they had alot of passengers at CDG.
Always the same, 40 in Brussels and full after CDG.

According to Airline Route, CDG is maintained as a destination:
Airline Route wrote:In addition, the airline from 01DEC13 will cancel service to Brussels from 01DEC13 (Last flight departs Addis Ababa on 30NOV13, Brussels on 01DEC13). Existing Addis Ababa – Paris CDG – Brussels service will change to Addis Ababa – Paris CDG.

Does someone know when ET launched BRU? My memory dates the service back to at least 2006, but when did they actually start?

Thx, just remembered that I have the paper timetables from BRU, and indeed it first appears in the timetable for Summer 2006 with a first departure on the 5th of June 2006. :)
