SN205 made a U-turn above France and is landing again in BRU.

I cannot understand the decisions of some airlines, for example RYR03P is now holding above CRL. But this is a flight from LGG, why would you take-off from LGG to CRL if you need to hold above CRL?! Same thing earlier this morning: JAI from OST took off to BRU but had to hold (and made an extra go around). That's quite a waste of fuel :?

They took off in LGG when weather was above minima, but as they were enroute to CRL it worsened... So now they are holding above GSY, while three other RYRs are diverting to LGG already. Another CRL is inbound from SUF now.

Edit (14:47): the SUF flight is also diverting to LGG, while RYR03P still holds over GSY. Visibility is 1900m, minimum 2400 required for the VOR07.

The situation above CRL is particularly interesting today ...
Nice to follow on flightradar24

RYR03P => already 2 hours making circles .... good luck for the pilots ...
And ..... landing back in LGG. "nice trip guys"

Does anyone know why the SN2720 GVA-BRU is cancelled? It doesn't even show on brussels airport or brussels airline website?? And to top it all off, there is no one representing Bru.Air at GVA for rebooking?

Right so apparantly there were not enough passengers on the flight so they just cancelled it an bumped everybody onto the later flight! WTF?? That's what you pay more then 300 EUR for?? No wonder they're going bankrupt

Wow, too bad for you. But I think bankruptcy comes faster if they keep flying empty. Maybe SN should have a closer look at this schedule.

It's not like an airline just cancels a flight if the bookings are low

I don't know the specific reason of your flight cancellation, but when an airline is an aircraft short on a particular day for whatever reason (technical, repercussion of ATC or weather related delays like there were many today), it is quite common to cancel a flight on a high frequency route, rebook those passengers on the next flight and use the aircraft on a destination with limited or no alternatives for the passengers in case that particular flight would be cancelled...

Repercussion SN3722 AOG in MAD. Technical stuff happens.

Brussels Airlines does not even have one stand-by aircraft at its home airport ?
Ryanair has one at Charleroi.
And they say a legacy carrier is more reliable than a low-cost one ...

Nice try to stir up the discussion as usual.

Fact based reply: with multiple aircraft blocked at several airports due weather and a technical issue (which happens worldwide to 2-4% of all flights), an airline was forced to cancel a short flight with an alternative for the passengers.

Yeah, but, technical stuff in MAD doesnt concern me in GVA. This is seriously the first time ever I heard of a flight being cancelled to go and deploy it on another route? That is not normal, that's why you should have standby airplanes and crew! Just to compare:
SN morning flight: pushed 20 min late, landed 10 min late
SN2720: cancelled
SN2722: pushed 30 min late, landed 15 min late in BRU
Price of this flight: 370eur

EZY morning flight: pushed on time in BRU, landed 10 min early
EZY evening flight: pushed on time in GVA, landed 15 min early in BRU
Price: 87 EUR

i should have know better!!

And next time you will fly U2 and then maybe they will have a delay like this and you will open another topic for that flight, too?

Hi,

Was the Easyjet departing GVA on time, must be first time then .. lol
Took this flight already four times with a delay of one hour,...
Always same announcement.. late arrival of aircraft due to bad weather in barcelona,belfast,whatever..

Nice to see it can be also on time..

But an easy flight would cause even more trouble, 2 flights instead of nine SN flights..

CXB
New types flown 2022.. A339
