The successor to Meridiana, the successor to Alisarda? Isn't that only a child's toy for the Qatari's?

And its only a 49% share, anyway, according to Wikipedia.

49% is the max % a non EU company or citizen can have in a EU airline. Or to be correct, 50% - 1 share.

EU regulator investigates Alitalia state loan

The European Commission (EC) has opened an in-depth investigation to assess whether Italy’s €900 million ($1.1 billion) bridge loan to flag carrier Alitalia constituted state aid and whether it complied with European Union (EU) rules for aid to companies in difficulty.

Italy plans (again) to extend by six months a deadline to conclude the sale of ailing carrier Alitalia so that a new government being formed can handle the process, daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported today.

And indeed...: Italy extended the deadline for the sale of struggling Alitalia to end October 2018, according to Industry minister Carlo Calenda.

The European Commission is not happy: the bridge loan of 900 million euros from the Italian government is also extended until that date, whereas such loans are accepted by the EU for only a maximum of 6 months. State aid?

I just calculated that Alitalia is able to make a loss of 23,15 EUR per second. How do you even do that?

Well, if the EU thinks those grants are state aid, it will be over for Alitalia unless the government sells the airline before that.

The EU will do nothing for the moment because public opinion is so against the EU for the moment they will be paralysed.
The commission will act very carefully for the moment knowing the anti European feeling that is present for the moment and that's a good thing it will save Alitalia.

Read the French text then, if you don't understand the English version:
http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-18-3501_fr.htm
That press release clearly contradicts your statement that the EC is afraid of doing something because of some kind of "...anti European feeling..."

Alitalia cannot be saved anymore: they are under liquidation. Sure, sooner or later someone will buy what is left. But with that EC press release of 23th April 2018, it's obvious that the state aid will have to be paid back to Italy by the one who buys what's left.

I read it ...but till now nothing happened and like I said before they will find a way to let the process go on because the reasons I mentioned.
But like I said also before time will tell.

If today Italy lose his national airline because the EU and don't give EU much chances to survive, after the Brexit the Italexit etc....

One of the arguments from my Italian friends and economist is that Italy is the fifth country in the world with the most tourists.
This is a pillar in the Italian economy it needs a own airlines what I understand is that Italy will never let Alitalia go down.
And that is a good think let's stop this ultra liberal Europe.
Hasta la victoria siempre.

I would not understand that the EU has a different policy with an Italian airline because there would be a lot of tourists in Italy? Two weights, two measures ? Malev: out and Alitalia in? Ridiculous!

Indeed, the EU won't be able to justify towards other countries (f.e. Estonia with Estonian Air) that they let Alitalia do their thing, maybe because of the tourism there, whlist other airlines went bankrupt because of the EU policy. That would be discrimination based on nationality, which is prohibited by the EU Treaties.
