American Airlines will begin with non-commercial B737 MAX flights in early December 2020 before the official return to service on 29 December 2020.

Copa Airlines says that a LOI for sale of two B737-700s was signed in November 2020 and is expected to be finalised in January 2021. The B737 MAX 9s are expected to resume service soon. Copa is in talks with Boeing regarding MAX compensation and expects to receive two more MAX in December 2020.

Southwest Airlines has sent a team of mechanics to Victorville to start the process of bringing its 34 B737 MAX jets out of their desert hibernation.

Delta Air Lines Chief Executive Ed Bastian hinted at the possibility of purchasing B737 MAX, which was recently approved to fly again by US regulators.

Citibank to lend Copa Airlines approximately $327 million for the purchase of several B737 MAX 9s.

China’s CAA will not yet allow B737 MAX jet to fly in the country owing to lingering safety concerns, despite the FAA lifting a ban on commercial flights.

Europe is set to lift its flight ban on the B737 MAX in January 2021 after US regulators last week ended a 20-month grounding.

UAE’s GCAA has confirmed that it is evaluating the return of the B737 MAX to the country, and its specialists are working with their counterparts in the US and EU.

Alaska Airlines signs up to take 13 more 737 MAX aircraft, leasing them from Air Lease Corp. This adds to the 32 on order directly from Boeing.
