Airbus begins listing the A350-1000 with a MTOW of 319 tonnes, a higher figure than previously listed. The range increases to 8,700nm, in hopes of meeting the bid for Qantas' Project Sunrise.

Seems EK is pushing A359 order from 30 to 50 (or 80?) and might be dropping A339.

Airbus and General Electric are in preliminary talks of an upgraded GEnx-based engine for possible future A350 variants (a so-called A350neo).

I was afraid this might happen. Like be B777, it's perfectly feasible to put a 10 across in an A350 :(

Increasing capacity by increasing exit door (size?) in case of evacuation, but not only....
I guess they will redesign monument location in the cabin, retrieve some space from lavatories/galley, crew rest compt, push sidewalls closer to fuselage skin, move aft pressure bulkhead backwards one or two frame to gain maximum floor space in the cabin.
For the operators it will be a serious alternate option to the 777x...if not a better option.

Lessor Avolon (Ireland) has dropped four A350-900s from its total order of 14, while adding 10 more A330-900s to reach 37.

Is the A330neo better from an economic point of view than the A350?

It depends. The trip cost of an A330neo is lower than for an A350, so when the demand isn't there to fill up an A350 regularly, it can make more sense to operate an A330neo. The A350-900 is around 12-15% bigger than an A330.

If I understood well the A330Neo is also cheaper on flights that are less than 6000 kilometers?
Hasta la victoria siempre.
