BRU winter 2012-2013: latest news, routes, airlines

Is it correct that Easyjet will stop its flights between Brussels and Liverpool from 26 October 2012?

I think the flights are just not loaded in the booking system yet, just tried to check BER flights, they are not bookable as from 27 October. Same for other routes (and not only out of BRU, but also out of AMS for example). So except you have a certain source (that I would like to see) I don't think they'll stop the route.

I have no reliable source for this. I regularly check wikipedia and they claim this news both on their subpages of Brussels and Liverpool airport. I found this strange because they claim the suspension of several easyjet-routes from/to Liverpool. It will probably be a misinterpretation of the fact that several easyjet-routes from/to Brussels are not yet loaded in the bookingsystem.

No easyJet flights out of BRU are loaded yet, out of other airports a part/all flights are loaded. I assume easyJet is currently loading the winter season in their booking engine, resulting in certain missing flights. Of course it is possible they will indeed stop the Liverpool route to BRU, but I couldn't tell until the BRU flights are loaded as it seems unlikly to me they'll stop their whole BRU operation (not even GVA is loaded in their booking system for next winter).

Edit:
Just checked the internet a bit, and it seems the sales of easyJet for winter 2012 out of Liverpool started this week, so with BRU still missing they may indeed stop it... I checked AMS-Liverpool and that flight is loaded, while AMS-GVA for exemple is still missing. So I assume only the routes out of Liverpool are for sale at the moment and with BRU missing I suppose they'll stop that route.

Ok, thank you for the clarification. Could the possible discontinuation of BRU-Liverpool be a consequence of the inauguration of FR's Charleroi-Manchester flights?

ATH, CTA, FAO, FLR, NAP, OPO & WAW seem unbookable for this winter...

As SN is trying to reduce their EU network, especially in the winter when they loose a lot of money with it, I wouldn't be surprised if these destinations would go summer only... But there may be another reason of course...

also for most of the destinations (ATH, FAO, OPO and WAW) they can rely on Star partners...

Or can be that those flights are not loaded yet in their system. But please check again because WAW is loaded in their system and you can book them.

Some Italian destinations or Porto can be only during the summer but Athens and Warsaw does not make any sence to serve only during summer. I take those flights very regulary, several times a month, and I have to tell you that those flights are quite full, especially waw. On these flights you have also a lot of transfer pax.

If you only have to rely on your Star partners then you are only a virtual airline. If you have to rely on them then you cannot feed your own network.

Athens could maybe be justified with the Greek economical situation :?: But still surprising because it's a capital and a rather big city with a *A hub

They are allowed to fly another daily destination as from December. If that will happen is not sure, but in the press Jet Airways said they indeed may relaunch daily flights to/from Bangalore.

This was already planned... ? If I'm correct they launch it in May, replacing the LH Regional services.

Easyjet-bookings for the next winter season are now open from/to Brussels. Unfortunately Liverpool is not longer bookable.
