Air Europa is a member of Skyteam, hence all three alliances will fly the BRU-MAD route. Welcome to the competition!MR_Boeing wrote:As from 3 December Air Europa will start up to two daily flights between Madrid and Brussels with an Embraer E190.
Yet isn't that a bit too much competition?sn26567 wrote:Air Europa is a member of Skyteam, hence all three alliances will fly the BRU-MAD route. It didn't materialise, but it will in W12 as UX has the Neckermann contract for pax to CUN and Carribean.MR_Boeing wrote:If I remember well they started also 2 daily MAD-AMS with the E190 last year. For a few times they planned an upgrade to the 738, but I don't think it happened yet (tough not sure).
You seem to forget the bigger picture. UX has a many long haul flights ex MAD (and these flights are well timed for the long haul flights). As long as there are no direct flights to Latin America UX may be able to compete with IB on some routes (and Winter is high season for Latin America). Moreover maybe they have the same deal with Neckermann/Thomas Cook in Belgium as they have in The Netherlands.Inquirer wrote:Sure, demand is good in summer, but starting during in low season seems odd to me.
I reckon this must be a mistake as how can UX1172 be daily if UX1171 is 6 weekly? I don't think UX will have an ERJ190 parked at BRU for almost an entire day.MR_Boeing wrote:As from 3 December Air Europa will start up to two daily flights between Madrid and Brussels with an Embraer E190.

I'm slightly mystified. I reckon you mean a 1973/1972 rotation on Saturdays (whereas normally a 1971/1972 and 1973/1974 rotation)? Only logical explanation for this schedule is that they focus more on Caribbean connections than South American connectionssdbelgium wrote:That's because it's 1974/1971 rotation, and not 1971/1972 (the plane nightstops in BRU).
Correct. If they send their own 777-300ER (not the 9W leased ones), this will mean an increase of almost 300 seats per week.WC_EEND wrote:Doesn't that also mean an upgauge from the current 77E flying the route?
