This sunday, it seem's that there are some flights cancelled in the african program of SN. The flight SN501 to NY desappeared from the table of departures.
Again problems with OO-SFM or SFW?
Who can give informations concerning these modifications?

Strange, because the arrival of SN502 for tomorrow morning is still planned on the BRU website ?

It was Saturday's outgoing and Sunday's incoming that were cancelled.

It was OO-SFV. Plane had engine problem.

Does OO-SFV already have the new interior? Thought only SFW and SFM had it for now? (and NY is operated by new interior only?

I think SFV also has it, along with the two others.

Are these engineproblems also the cause for having two flights to Dakat today 02 july (SN1201 and SN201)?
Greetz.

I read this evening in the briefs of the journal "le jour" from Douala that a Brussels Airlines flight was cancelled last thirsday evening due to a major problem in the airport with the central fuel supply due to an important leak. That can perhaps explain a part of the modifications in the planning?

According to Flightradar24 playback, SFV was stuck in JFK on June 30 and returned to BRU on July 2 morning. Also SFO did'nt fly on 29/6, 30/6 and 1/7 for some reason. On Sundays, all 7 A330 are "normally" on duty.

Apparently, SN gave preference to its Africa flights on 1/7 rather than to JFK. I guess it was a difficult choice.

A Brussels Airlines Avro RJ-100, registration OO-DWC performing flight SN-2902 of July 8th, 2012, from Vienna (Austria) to Brussels (Belgium), was climbing out of Vienna's runway 29 when after retracting the gear the crew did not receive a gear up and locked indication for the right main gear. The crew levelled off at 5000 feet, lowered the gear again and returned to Vienna for a safe landing on runway 34 about 20 minutes after departure.
The flight needed to be cancelled after attempts to repair the aircraft proved unsuccessful for an hour. The passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
The incident aircraft was able to position to Brussels at normal cruise altitude (FL320) as flight SN-9902 departing Vienna about 9.5 hours after landing.

An outbound flight to Chicago had a bird strike this morning, says commercial tv VTM. Fuel was dumped above the North Sea, engine shut down, then return to BRU. VTM was at BRU for the luggage belt problem, and they were able to interview stranded pax.

Travelers at Brussels airport this morning were treated to a rare mess in the departure hall.
The disorder began around 8 am when a rebel suitcase blocked the entire chain of luggage.
The incident quickly led to long queues at the check-in desks.
In order not to delay the aircraft, the passengers have taken off on time ... but without their luggage!
If a majority of 2,000 people were reunited with their baggage later in the day, others will have to wait a little longer ...

Last Tuesday, DL80 from Atlanta to Brussels had to divert to St. John's, Canada. An elderly woman had a fatal heart attack on board.

The runway 25R/07L will be closed for resurfacing in August 2012.

25L/07R was closed for the same reason in August 2008. Some delays as a result. I remember our plane being kept waiting for half an hour on a taxiway at MAN, for lack of a landing spot at BRU.

This did not happen in Belgium, so the moderators might want to change the location of this post.

I just saw this by chance on flightradar24: SN 3731 (SSV) was approaching Madrid from the West when it made a detour, continued its course towards Valencia and, after 2 loops above the sea off the coast, apparently landed (hopefully safely) at Valencia airport at 23.29 (Bru time).

I'd like to know what happened of course.
