BAC makes 30 unhappy airlines (Aviapartner ousting)

Post by liege-bierset »

Not a surprise but interesting times ahead !
(Sorry in French, from Air Journal)

I hope the new title is less "misleading" but once you read the paper, no doubts about the meaning.

Thanks for this interesting article, but the title of your post may be misleading.
The 30 airlines are not unhappy about Aviapartner, they are after BAC for dropping AP.

Cheers.

Here is a flemish article from de standaard:
http://www.standaard.be/artikel/detail. ... 110910_023

So 30 unhappy airlines wrote a letter to TBAC to ask them to review their
decision about the new licences for handling. The airlines want TBAC to
give back the licence to Aviapartner iso Swissport.

Let's see if TBAC listens to its customers...

The reply of Swissport International :

http://www.air-journal.fr/2011-09-20-ev ... 36339.html

A google translation of the main part :

Aviapartner was ousted following a tender procedure rigorously, for which the handler has not collected sufficient points. Since then, Aviapartner filed a complaint in summary proceedings and this procedure is in progress. E & Y report quoted in the article was not considered by the court, which ruled that the procedure was not discriminatory.

Aviapartner has launched a lobbying to appear as the victim of a conspiracy. Letters received from Brussels Airport are at least suspicious. After having consulted, it appears that:
- As of June 8, a maximum of 10 letters were actually sent by the airlines to the attention of Brussels Airport. It is therefore of old facts.
- The contents of all letters is identical.
- All letters were sent by the same company (postmark or even identical handwriting on the envelopes).
- The letters are signed by local employees of airlines and are in no case issued by the headquarters of these companies.
- In addition, at least one of these letters has been issued by a company that not even n'officie Brussels Airport.
- Through its Secretary General, BATA and BAR have distanced the content of letters. "Such initiatives are not supported by their members! ".
All points above are verifiable from Brussels Airport, of the companies, BATA and BAR.
Obviously, it is strange that the airlines support a handler that ensures that rates for Brussels Airport are among the highest in the world.
Subsidiary question: why Aviapartner, previously the most fierce opponent to the allocation of more than 2 licenses at Brussels Airport, is it now the champion of the detention of three licenses?
Clearly qu'Aviapartner makes every effort to survive and for this purpose does not hesitate to spread misinformation and manipulative.

Aviapartner has won also the appeal against Brussels Airport today.

The decision from BRU to dismiss Aviapartner is now suspended till a judge "in depth" will rule on the matter, probably somewhere in 2013.
