From India's newspaper Business Standard (18/08):

Jet Airways has deferred the induction of Boeing 787 aircraft due from 2017-end as it aims to limit wide body capacity addition and consolidate its business. As per the original plan, Jet was expected to receive the first of the ten Boeing 787 on order from last quarter of 2017 but now the airline management has pushed back the induction. "At Jet Airways we continuously review our fleet and network strategy. We are currently upgrading capacity on key international routes by deploying the six Boeing 777 aircraft which are returning from lease. A decision on the induction of additional wide body aircraft will be based on the outcome of the review," a Jet Airways spokesperson said in an emailed response. The spokesperson did not state when the airline will start receiving the 787s but a source indicated it is likely to receive them from 2019. A Boeing spokesperson did not immediately respond to the query on the topic. Jet Airways ordered ten Boeing 787 aircraft in 2006. Its original order was for the 787-8 varaint (flown by Air India) but later the airline converted it to the bigger variant (787-9) which has a longer range and higher seat capacity (290 in a standard two class configuration).

Air India will be issued a credit of US$45 million from Boeing to pay compensation for lower fuel efficiency than promised in the B787. The carrier is considering a proposal to order five more of these wide-bodies.

An ANA All Nippon Airways Boeing 787-900, performing delivery flight NH-9397 from Everett to Tokyo Haneda, was enroute at FL400 when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (Trent 1000) down. The aircraft drifted down to FL250 and returned to Everett for a safe landing.

The first Boeing 787-10 will roll out from the Charleston (South Carolina) plant on 17 February, in the presence of President Trump, “and we’re really happy he’s going to be there”, said Boeing CEO Randy Tinseth.

The new airplane, which has received 149 orders from nine customers, begins flight testing later in 2017 and will be delivered to airline customers in 2018.

Thai Airways International grounded part of its B787-8 fleet owing to turbine replacement issues with the RR Trent 1000 engines. The carrier says it is working with Rolls-Royce (UK) on the issue, which it expects to be sorted out by September 2017.

Thai Airways International plans to seek compensation from Rolls-Royce after being forced to ground all but one of its six B787-8 aircraft. Five of the carrier's Dreamliners have been out of action due to issues with the Rolls.Royce Trent 1000 turbine blades, reports The Bangkok Post.

The aircraft are usually deployed on routes to Australia, Dubai, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, and India.
