Maybe they understood "decrease" as "increase"?

To bad to see another long haul route disappear, first ORD with AA and now PVG with HU...

:(
Why am I not surprised! When I see Geert Bourgeois'face in HLN's article, things MUST go wrong... Lol

Actually I do not see this as "final" and a decrease of the presence of Hainan in BRU. They are currently bussy on the redevelopment of their long haul network (some routes are stopped (some temporary), some are changed, they requested some new things, they are placing the 787 in their plans for 2012,...). I'm quite sure they will do something with BRU. They are happy with BRU, they invested a lot in BRU (they buyed hotels, they expanded their team in BRU,...). We'll see...

But to "sn26567", probably I've not looked good enough, but where is this mentionned on Airline Route? I only see the routes they requested (including a route to CDG, routes to EWR, ... and routes with the 787), that some routes are temporary stopped and that Toronto will restart (as Airline Route first said it will just stop). But I do not see that PVG-BRU is not restarted and it seems flights are still loaded in amadeus (altough they may not be bookable? didn't check that).

YYZ appeared to be temporary suspending reservation so there's no "restart".

PVG BRU will be cancelled from 01JAN12, and NOT resuming after 25MAR12. Flight schedule and reservation is removed, while SN codesharing flight is Zero'd out. (Plus sometimes when a flight is listed in timetable it doesn't really mean anything at all.)

Hainan to Bourgeois: Next yeal we declease tlaffic between China and Belgium
Bourgeois to Hainan: Oh, thank you, very kind of you
Hainan to Bourgeois: No no, you don't undelstand: we ale going to DEclease tlaffic not INclease
Bourgeois to Hainan: Yes yes, I understand, thank you very much, that's generous of you
Hainan: Oh boy he doesn't have a clue, he thanks us and we are cutting a flight
Bourgeois to HLN: Hainan is happy with Belgium, they are going to increase the flights
HLN: Hainan is going to increase flights between Belgium and China!

2 weeks later: PVG-BRU-PVG is cut, loss of 3 flights a week

Bourgeois: Oh those stupid Chinese guys, can't they learn decent English for once?

I do also not see it as a ''final'' decrease. I think hainan will focus there International services out of PEK. Istanbul is also ended from PVG. Normally we will see a increase from PEK from 4 weekly to daily.

Maybe, but still a loss of a destination exBRU. This cancellation is not strange. Having only 3 weekly flights is too low if you compare it to what their competitors are doing (KL 12 weekly, LX daily, LH daily, AY daily, CA multiple dailies to Europe, AF 11 weekly, MU multiple dailies to Europe and BA 6 weekly).

OLT Jetair relaunches route between Bremen and Brussels

OLT Jetair, the Polish airline formed as a result of the merger of OLT of Germany and Jet Air of Poland, resumed the former OLT route between Bremen (BRE) in northwest Germany and Belgium’s capital Brussels (BRU) on 2 November. The 380-kilometre route, which previously was operated until May this year, is now flown nine times weekly with 18-seat Jetstream 32 aircraft.

I would love to fly that Jetstream 32 aircraft soon! Not so many in Europe. Too bad they are double the price then LH is (with a stop in MUC yes)

I was in BRU on 2 November and the OLT flight was not operated by J32 of Jet Air, but by a much bigger Saab 2000 of OLT itself. Is this common, or was I just lucky to see a Saab 2000?

Anyway, something else. On Airliners.net it is mentionned that Ethiopian will increase it's service to BRU from 5 weekly to daily again on January 12:

- 5/week: ADD-CDG-BRU
- 2/week: ADD-MXP-BRU

And what about the aircraft type? I've seen both the 767 and 757 this year (depending if the flight was operated through CDG (767) or through MXP (757)).

They fly the Saab in the morning, the J32 in the evening.

Ok thanks for that information. ;) Didn't knew they can fill a S2000  have they some important corporate contracts on this route?

I guess it has to do with the interline agreement with SN. Bremen - Africa.

Didn't knew about that interline agreement either. Did they already have an agreement when they operated to BRU before or is this something new since the restart?

Correct, they only have a code share with Swiss.

Yes they had. I know of 2008, not sure before.

If I understand correctly, on days 567, the 77W flies BOM-BRU-BOM and a 332 flies EWR-BRU-EWR. Only on days 1234 will the flight be operated by a 332 on its full routing BOM-BRU-EWR and v/v.

This must be a logistic nightmare. Why make things so complicated?

Probably because the 777 is overkill to EWR because of it's high operating cost. If they can make a profit by using the 332 to EWR then why not to so?

Or they need the extra First/Business to BOM.

Logistical wise (if you mean shuffeling containers between aircraft) this should not be a big issue.

ET does not codeshare with SWISS. It has codeshare agreement with SN, however.
