TCB fleet renewal: six new A320's

Post by Boeing767copilot »

Thomas Cook Group has signed a firm order for 12 A321 as a first step of the fleet harmonisation and renewal plan. The aircraft will be fitted with sharklets.

According to Travel Magazine Aviation Newsletter: "In addition to the firm order Thomas Cook Group plans to lease 24 A320's from operating lessors. Six of them are for Thomas Cook Belgium (FQ), with delivery 2012/2013"

Does TCB intend to start flights out of crl or liege? Is there a reason for them not to??

Unbelievable. Before it was JAF, now TCB.

And our Belgian flag carrier stays with its old fleet and absolutely no growth plans at all. And the rest of the aviation industry keeps growing, ordering new frames and opening new routes. Oh yeah sorry I forgot: there is KorongoCongoCongo !!! :| makes me sad.

Do know that Jetairfly and TC are part of a group ..... Brussels Airlines is not. And who knows what will happen if LH takes over ? :) Just wait ;)

I'm quite sure that they will replace the oldest ones because some of them, the newest in the fleet, is more then 17 years old.

The aircraft won't be A320NEO as they will only be available as from 2015, whilst the first aircraft will arrive in november 2011.

Our 'newest' in terms of age is, I believe, OO-TCN (MSN425), with a first flight on 25/08/1993. But indeed, 17 years old.

Most recently added to the fleet is indeed OO-TCR.
