Sukhoi SSJ100 EI-FWA parked up outside the Cityjet Hangar in Dublin today, after leaving Brussels Airlines. She arrived early yesterday morning.

Both situations are very different. SFM has provided enormous services and has been a major element in SN's survival in Africa. The SSJs were more like the old DAT for regional flights. Seeing SN aircraft on the ground is always painful. We would like to have pictures of new destinations, especially long-haul destinations and the extension of the passenger supply network at European level. Today, it is a wish that depends only on LH and the chances are minimal...

Returning from its lease to Brussels Airlines, Cityjet SSJ100 EI-FWF pays its first and possibly last visit to Dublin. (Picture Ken Meegan on Twitter)

I read that "Brussels Airlines (Belgium) says it is now looking for a new wet lease partner from March 2019."

I thought that there was an agreement inked with Air Nostrum? Could it be that this is only a short-term temporary agreement?

I see that if you book in March ( BHX - BRU ) it still says its Air Nostrum but if u wanna book in April it says its Brussels Airlines as operator and equipment AR8.

So far it seems the Air Nostrum thing isn't really smooth yet, its not terrible but on Monday the 6.20am BHX-BRU flight didn't depart until 10.20am and for tomorrow it also announces as 3h55mins late already tonight.
I was just getting comfortable again with the SSJ being on time the last 2 months.

I am now told that the Air Nostrum CRJ aircraft are indeed leased to terminate the agreement with CityJet (the two companies have merged), which runs until March. After that, the decision is still pending, with Air Nostrum the front runner.

Heard Wideroe was in the running too but they don't have enough staff, and Adria is a possible candidate too. AirNostrum is just a temporary solution as they merged with WX and just terminate the contract (if enough staff to secure the flights cos the ontime departures are not that great again)

Not sure Adria would be a good candidate, in view of their financial problems :o

It would be a fixed income for 2 years at least, let's wait and see which airline will be a suitable candidate. Most logical would be LH Cityline or LGW but only if both would have enough planes and crew available

Adria is a possible candidate too.
And Adria just ordered SSJ100s, so it would be perfect! ;)

there won't be a return of Sukhoi's at Brussels Airlines, that's the whole point of ending the agreement with Cityjet

Does the wet-lease agreement (or tender) specifically exclude SSJs?

That I don't know but why would they terminate the contract with Cityjet's SSJ and start a new one with Adria with SSJ again?

Maybe not in writing, but most probably the candidates got the, message.

The Dash-8 has proved to be unsuitable due to luggage hold limitations.

Since we're on the subject, why not go for the E-190. It's a nice aircraft and the LH group has an ample collection to draw from? It is also well-known in Belgium as TUI operates a few of them.
Does anyone here know how it is rated, operating cost and maintenance-wise?
