Maybe I was a bit to quick with my reaction yesterday.

OS of course is in much bigger need of new equipment since their 767/777 are way older then SN's incoming A330-fleet, besides these fairly young birds are quite sufficient for SN ops...

And LH wanting to get rid of thirsty A340's seems logical as well. A replacement with A350 is the logical consequence then.

I am just hoping for some positive news for SN at BRU as well...
Hoping for a B787-8 in Brussels Airlines colors ;) #FingersCrossed

Let me be the Devil's advocate...

Please stick to A330-300's even if they're second hand until the fleet is at least 20 aircraft, then start thinking about a second type.

Cheers,

Brussels Airlines is dominated by Germans, so the only option to see a 787 with Belgian reg with LH is with Eurowings...

OO-SFK being baptized "Belgian" today: it's on its way to Dakar as SN203 for its first revenue flight under the EW livery.

Brussels Airlines, a.k.a. Eurowings will get a shitload of used A330s it seems.
Not necessarily a problem tough.
I didn't mean it as a problem, the A330 can offer a very comfortable ride and I agree that SN doesn't have +11hrs destinations for now. Nor could they with this fleet if they wanted to...

An a330-200 has a range of 13400km... Technically it's possible...

For sure! But on March 14th the flight was performed by N814NW, an aircraft delivered in 2007...

So the generation SN is getting now I presume...

Somewhere from around MSN 500 the standard range capability increased dramatically for the A330-300, at least 1300nm more than the early birds like SFO-M-N-V-W.
SFK (MSN 570) is one of earlier birds that had the increased MTOW modification standard in the production line, up until then it was up to the customer's choice (and wallet).
Much later MSN's also had the option for the activated center tank, giving it almost the same range as the -200's (but with a smaller payload due to the higher OEW).
All of the 'new' A330's will be able to fly ±5000nm with max passenger capacity (no cargo).

Is OO-SFU experiencing problems again? It hasn't flown for more than a week. It has "just" spent over 3 weeks in Lisbon in February (assuming for maintenance).

I saw that 'City of Prague' (OK-NEP) is flying for SN to TLS
Is this plane permanently going to fly for SN? I would find that a bit upsetting, Brussels Airlines with its 'Belgian icon' planes, suddenly flying around with advertisement for another city..

SNI and SNJ are also still in KUN and OSR respectively (SNJ already since December?)
