Won't it be used for EW at first?

One of the 2 'early arrivals' (don't remember if it's this one or the other) will indeed temporarily go to EW for about 10 months after which it returns to SN. The other one will be used by SN during the summer. Both will operate with a slightly adapted Cathay interior (e.g. IFE update to EW and SN UI respectively and small re-configuration of Economy/Premium Economy to align better with the respective EW (incl. C class) and SN configurations). When the wet-lease aircraft returns from EW it will get the full new SN interior (complete retrofit of the cabin), the one used by SN in a temporary Cathay interior will be retrofitted later in the cabin overhaul program (a full cabin retrofit for this summer is not yet possible as it's more time consuming and mainly because the new cabin is not ready yet, as the fleet roll-over actually only starts at the end of 2018 and the cabin development has been timed on that EIS target).

No existing A330 will leave the fleet until after the S18 season.

What about the livery? Will the EW one get an EW livery or will it get an SN livery? Or will it stay in the CX livery with temp decals until it returns to SN and gets a full paintjob?

... and the SN livery when it returns to SN in 10 months? And Carsten Spohr will complain that SN has bad results...

Sounds ridiculous, unless the EW livery are just decals. Otherwise it might be a first step into rebranding SN into EW, they can say in 10 months: hey, our plane was just painted, let not waste any money by repainting it, just slap a decal "operated by Brussels Airlines" on it and we're good to go...

Carsten obviously knows every trick in the book...

But that one is going to SN and not EW. And you always have to start slow when you know there's big attachment to the brand. So start with one plane and see how it goes, a few months later a second one, etc... At least that's what I would do in Carsten's place

Eurowings pays the Eurowings paint, Brussels Airlines pays the Brussels Airlines paint. Brussels Airlines' balance sheet is not going to be negatively affected by the extra paint. There have been many scenario's, but Eurowings chose to pay for the full paint. What is your problem?

Re: cabin refit, the last update I got is that 5 aircraft will be configured with he new interior in WI18, another 5 in WI19, the new cabin (with real 7 abreast Y+) will then be presented officially at the end of WI19.

Whatever the livery, a fresh coat of paint would do good. :(

I was not far from EBBR this afternoon so I gave it a try. Wished a real spotter would have taken a real good photo but ok, here are mine :

According to Airfleets.Fr (I know, not always reliable!) EW has 7 A330s in its fleet, all A332s.

So, why doesn't OO-SFB remain at SN now (even with the CX interior; I'm pretty sure it's not that bad!) and one of SN's 4 A332s go join the 7 A332s at EW?
Seems logical, but that might be the reason of course! ;)

[If I remember correctly, SFX is currently the only A333 able to fly to/from BOM with full load; SFB would be too!]

OO-SFC, Airbus A330-342, MSN 895, is on the Belgian register since 15/03/2018.

I also found a photo of OE-IFU (future OO-SNL) in SN-livery: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/8888678
It still has its "wifi-bump" :)
