It is not decided yet. It might be, it might be not, that is the meaning of "CEO LH 'considers' A350 for EW".

And for sure, when it would be decided it is not for tomorrow, rather in the (mid-) long term. And since SN is part of EW it is not excluded that SN receives A350 the as well.

We should less complain, support SN by flying them and hopefully we'll see those mordern birds in the future ...

Famous people portraits might be a bit difficult to recognize, even for Belgians ;) : Albert 1, Ernest Solvay, Jacques De Duve, Maurice Maeterlinck, Jacques Brel, Leo Baekeland,..........
Toots Thielemans was decently known around the world.

But there's some many to chose from. Belgium has quite the history and Belgians have invented quite some things also.

Our modern maps all use the Mercator projection, something that Gerardus Mercator invented in the second half of the 1500's.

Or what about the Saxophone, a beautiful instrument from Adolphe Sax.

Or maybe something a bit more crazy: medication. A Belgian invented the contraceptive pill, so was Imodium and even fentanyl is a Belgian invention.

Or what maybe not to much people known is that the internal combustion engine is actually a Belgian invention done by Etienne Lenoir in 1859

Or the many famous painters... Rubens, Van Eyck, Ensor, Permeke, Brueghel, Van Dyck, etc...

Even the ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) was invented by a Belgian (Karel Bossart). But maybe that not the right thing to put on an airplane

A few possibilities for sites: the Atomium, Brussels Grand' Place, Manneken Pis, a view of Bruges' canals, Antwerp's Brabo, Namur's Citadel to stick to some of the best known.

An other one : André Vésale !
André Vésale, born in Brussels on 31 December 1514 and died in Zakynthos on 15 October 1564, is a Brabant anatomist and physician, considered by many historians of science to be the greatest anatomist of the Renaissance, even the greatest in history of medicine.

In fact they ARE looking for a 5th Belgian Icon livery! Or a 6th as Malinwa was the 5th Belgian Icon livery ;-) https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/lufthan ... n-malinwa/

Does anybody knows what happened to G-ECOK? Looks like he hasn't been flying around for some time. It flew to EXT on 01/08. Is it for paint in normal cs? Also, G-RJXI hasn't been flying around for some time as well. Also for paint? And it also seems that a lot of ERJ-flights just don't fly.

SWISS is studying the new A321LR, as the aircraft can reach new markets for the carrier, including the US East coast.

This should be a Lufthansa Group project, not limited to SWISS. I'm sure SN could also make good use of such aircraft.

And now I read that the CEO of SWISS would use them on African route! In competition with SN????

not sure about that. nowhere in the article it is mentioned that the aircraft will be used to open destinations where SN is already flying.
Remember that North Africa is also Africa... 8-)

Yes but there is no need of a A321LR to fly Zurich-north america, a normal A321 can make it, and normal A321, Swiss already have some.

Wasn't this suggested by luchtzak members already quite some time ago ? A320 family aircraft from BRU to Africa and as well as a NYC late evening flight ? I seem to remember the idea was considered "unworkable", also by SN management, but when Swiss CEO considers it, it gets serious attention.

I m still convince that this is not the right aircraft to fly for Africa, because with the actual network even the A330 are almost full everyday, if not in cabin, it s full in the belly. The A321LR doesn't have such cargo capacity. The only point I would see the A321LR would be on long haul leisure destination as there would be almost no cargo and there Is no proper business class needed.

However I still think that a couple of standard A321 would be nice for the European sector and Tel Aviv

Indeed, Flanker where are you? CEO at Swiss?
