Hi,

I've got a question, has the last RJ85 left the SN fleet or not? And if so, when and what happened with it?

Thanks

Indeed I flew RJ85 from Bromma to Brussels.
The pilot told me another 18 months and then the last RJ would be gone.

No news on what they will fly to Bromma to his knowledge;... you guys any idea?

Thanks,
Pieter

April 2016 to be exact.
After that, SN will have an all airbus fleet.
Even in the most modest fleet roll over scenario, this means more than 1 million extra seats are to be offered, so you can expect a completely new product line up to fill those too. ;)

perhaps, indeed. I don't think the A319 can land/take-off at Bromma, or can it ?

I'm informed that A318 is possible.

I would be surprised they will move to Arlanda, Bromma is, in my opinion, a cashcow for them high loads high yields.

True, that is why a turboprop or an ERJ145 is too small for flights to/from BMA... You just can't take all the pax and luggage as these flights are almost always full.

OO-SSE, Brussels Airlines 21st A32F was ferried from Ostrava to BRU today.
It will soon start to fly commercially, just in time to boost the schedule which includes 9 new routes, together with its new sistership SSF which will join the fleet next month.
More to follow as the expansion isn't over yet... ;)

What about the EMB175 or EMB190 ? Can also fly to FLR (and LCY if b.air ever decided to fly to LCY).
Does anyone know if Bombardier's Cseries could fly to Bromma, Firenze or LCY ?

Perhaps an answer to one of my questions :

http://info.cseries.com/en/#/cseries/fl ... /florence/

But before the C100 would be available the EMB175/190 would probably be the best replacement for the Avrojet to Bromma.

RJ100 pilot told me yesterday that specific routes, like Bromma, will be operated by a subco. All SN pilots will move to Airbus

I doubt that they will leave a profitable route such as BMA to someone else in wetlease. Wetlease will only be used for thin routes that cannot be flown with an airbus. I don't think BMA is such a thin route.

It probably depends on how much the wet lease would cost (it would probably be a "semi" (?) wetlease with
b.air flight attendants) compared with the generated revenue (while waiting for the fleet renewal).

In the English version of Wikipedia on Brussels Airlines, somebody wrote today that the aircraft replacing the remaining RJ85 (to be phased out this month) and the 12 RJ100s (to be phased out by 2016) would be 5 A319s, 4 A320s and 10 A321s (the latter to be used for European and African flights). Rumour, speculation or reality?

Now, this contributor did not manage to build a correct table to show these changes.

He also wrote that the 4 Q400s currently in use (1 from Tyrolean and 3 from Flybe) would soon become 5, all from Flybe.

Dear Passenger, despite that their systems may have changed I have friends complain about their staff travel prices to Asia just last week, they finally chose for one of the ME3.
But it's great to see how you can see a relation between that and my analysis on their fleet needs, as you seem to be the actual non-aviation people in the room.
You can contiue picking your stupid fights, I know one thing for sure: if SN was managed so well, then why has it been so loss-making in the past 5 years?
